Battery Life on Nexus 4 after 4.3 update?

For me, I had Android OS issue too but mine was solved by restarting my nexus.

Interesting. Can people post pictures of their Google Services?

This is by far my biggest drain. My phone's only been on for 10 hours and Google Services has been awake for 3 hours.

Right now, mine has only used about 3% of the battery. If you don't want that thing using a lot of power, you'll have to stop using pretty much any Google service... i.e...contact sync, location services, the Play Store...etc...

Thanks for the pic. Are you stock 4.3? What location services option don't you have checked? Are you running Google Now?

Yes, 4.3 was supposed help improve battery life in the Nexus 4, and I've been noticing a modest improvement. BTW, Easy Battery Saver works well.

I was having major battery issues just prior to and after receiving the 4.3 update, either 'Android System' or 'Android OS' were showing very high on the battery meter (sometimes even above 'Screen'). I hard reset my device and re-downloaded all my apps but the problem persisted. I then performed another hard reset and this time did not download my previously installed applications. I am now experiencing battery performance that is even better to what I was getting prior to the 4.3 update. My theory is that one of my apps had an update which caused a system process to get carried away. I'm in the process of slowly building my installed apps back up and keeping a keen eye on the battery meter as I do so.

I hope you manage to find and fix the cause!

Hey guys, I'm getting this after 4.3, always on Wifi, I feel it's not much ?
Are you guys using some custom kernel or something?

Yes I'm using stock ROM. I enable all location access and haven't disabled Google Now (I rarely use it though).
Somehow the Google Services keep awake time varies from time to time. I got it around 1 hour of keep awake today.

Google Services I got today

Thanks for your help. It's appreciated! I've woken up and have had location history and reporting off on maps but have kept wifi and mobile location on. I'm going to see how it destroys the battery today.

Thanks!

Having recently been updated to 4.3 I have noticed that my battery stats have deteriorated drastically. It appears that whenever the screen is on, the battery is draining at a very fast rate. Since updating I have installed the dashclock widget as well as The apex launcher and notifier.

Do these numbers seem odd to anyone else? Any help would be appreciated!

So it is definitely maps that is the culprit. When I turned off the location reporting and history in maps my wakelocks have settled. Thanks for your help.

Can you post a pic of your Google settings usage? I

Android OS is consuming a lot of battery. What can I do about it?

Ditto for me:

And that was a day of letting my phone sit idle. Notice that "Screen" isn't even on that list (it was next after Media Server at 3%). Power cycled my phone, and the problem seemed to fix itself for awhile, but then happened again, as last night I went to bed with ~30%, plugged it in via USB to my PC, and woke up this morning to find my phone had shut off (battery got completely exhuasted while charging via USB).

That is what I seem to be getting too. Right now I have 2h 50min on battery 89% left. Android OS is using 46%. My screen time is under 2 minutes.

It was fine for 2-3 days after 4.3. But now it is getting worse. Too worse. Even with location reporting off and google search disabled.
Google services needs all the battery for itself, and under it Play Services, Framework, Contact Sync, Network Location.

Have you done a factory reset?

Yes this one. I turned off location reporting and my wake locks went back to pre 4.3. I turned location history on half way through the day yesterday and found I had more wake locks but nothing compared to what I had before.

Have you ever tried restarting your nexus ? I have no idea why that happened to you.
If you really tried everything. I think factory reset might be the only way out for you.

I've thought about a factory reset but my battery life and wakelocks have all settled after turning off location reporting in maps.
