Best screen protector?

I want the anti-fingerprint one because it's a matte finish so it'll help with glare. My concern is if it significantly affects screen quality. Some brands do and some brands don't. And even if the screen is glass it can still scratch. With a good screen protector the glass won't scratch, you won't be able to tell it's there, and it won't affect the touch sensitivity or screen quality.

it failed to pass my own test. my first model (which had screen lifting issues) has several small scratches on the screen probably from bits of sand in my pocket

Take a look around on the forums. Plenty of people who report scratches.

Me, I would rather not risk it if I can get something that I never notice being there...

I would rather have the boxwave than nothing and nothing over one of the wet-applied covers. For me they take away too much from the feel and look of the screen.

I have an invisible shield on my EVO. It works great. I can throw my phone in my pocket with keys, drop it, etc and dont have to worry.

I used it on my PRE ( same one lasted an entire year)
And also had one the year before on my Instinct.

They are costly, but as long as you install them right with no air bubbles and dust/hairs they will last as advertised. The evo one is EXTREMELY EASY to apply since its just glass.

I dont go for the full body IS KITS because they eventually will peel on the corners ( not on the screen) , just the screen protector + a silicone sleeve does the trick for me. At least until they make an Otterbox for the EVO then I will get that

Keep in mind Glass has a point of impact, if you drop it even a few feet if it lands the wrong way or lands on a sharp corner of a table it could be a cracked screen. With an invisible Shield you increase the density and give it a thin cushion of polymer film to "dent" or absorb the impact versus the glass itself. Thats something to consider, the material from the invisible shield really is great stuff, its nothing like the cheap precut plastic adhesive protectors you buy on ebay or even the sprint store.

I actually work for SPRINT, and i swear I dont work for invisible shield, but their products really are superior to the made in china crap that comes from other vendors.

I agree that they are a great screen protector, if all you care about is protection. I used Zagg on an instinct and a pre. I also used phantomskinz on a pre. I've never used the anti fingerprint or "hard" types of protectors on a personal device, but I've had more than enough experience to say that I like the feel of those better than Zagg or phantomskinz. That's why I want the best screen protector I can get that doesn't involve water for the installation.

I am quite happy with my two for $4 protectors that I ordered from eBay. The ones made from the 3M film are what Zagg charges $20 each for.

I just got mine yesterday. I have Boxwave protectors on all my devices and love them. They're a hundred times better then the invisible shield, despite what some people here say. I've used both, and will never go back. Sorry, I can't post a pic as I am traveling right now and don't have my camera. There isn't really anything a pic will show anyway, other then the cutout around the camera and sensors at the top of the phone. They are completely clear, have no orange peel, and are completely smooth just like the naked screen.

OK great that's pretty much what I wanted to hear haha. I was looking at the website and didn't want to just go by just the pictures they had up of the product. Basically wanted to hear a review of someone that had it specifically for the evo. Thanks so much for your input.

Installed Seido's USG and I like it. Easy to put on...just be careful for dust. Fits well...not 100% coverage (short a millimeter or two on bottom and side). Feels good...pretty invisible and even more so once the case was back on.

I'd recommend it.

I put the screen cover by invisible shield on and then put seido's platinum case from best buy on it. It takes a little effort so that you don't accidentally pull up the shield from the phone when you slide the case on.

Ghost armor is the best thing I've used. And I've had invisible shield before. This is much better. Using swype or ShapeWriter is so easy to use with it on. It has no grip to it.

Boxwave is a dry to apply. Easy to come off and on. No residue. It is very easy to clean.

I have the Crystal Clear version and it is like it is not there, but it protects really well. I had it on past devices, including the Pre, and it lasts along time.

You're not overthinking it. I think a lot of the people that still use the invisible shield and other wet protectors just haven't tried the dry ones yet. I used wet protectors in the past and after trying the boxwave I will never go back. They are far and away better then wet application shields.
