So when does Best Buy start calling people to setup in store preorder pickup appointments? The day before, the day of or never.

The one I pre-ordered in at set up the appointment when I pre-ordered it. I have my doubts that they'll do it any earlier than the 15th. They've already upset a lot of people.

My unlocked version comes in Monday, I went into the store today for chyts & giggles and they said they will not release any phones before the 15th, they also said they have all of them in the cabinets. Smh, glad I didn't order in store. Bad business seeing that the iPhone gets announced Tuesday, which can lead some people to have buyers remorse and switch.
Just make sure when you get your phone to immediately apply for the samsung freebie. Quantities are limited and one of the freebies will be more valuable than a samsung voucher considering the inflated prices on their retail product. Download the shop samsung app once you have activated your device and find the N8 redemption promotion. This is one reason I opted to cancel the in-store pickup with all the problems BB customers are experiencing and got my phone via online delivery.
Also, the orchid grey situation is interesting... I went to trade in my previous verizon phone at a corporate store today to redeem the additional N8 discount and the reps indicated that verizon was allotted more orchid greys in the presale than secondary dealers such as best buy because of their contract with samsung. Just passing that along, I have no idea about the validity of that statement but it might shed some light on the situation affecting the upset BB preorder customers on the forum.

When I went into my local BB to cancel my preorder for in-store pickup the BB mobile supervisor said the same thing about their locked cabinet full of N8s! She thought it was ridiculous as well and did not blame me for ordering online. Funny thing is I got one of those same phones out of that cabinet. Within 24 hrs of my online order the store had the N8 picked up and shipped to me. lol
She was particularly upset because due to the number of preorder cancellations she will now have to decrease planned staffing because she was instructed to have "all hands on deck" for the 15th. She said most went to do direct order from verizon. Sad for not only us but it affects the BB staff. This was not handled well at all.

i just want my note 8 and hopefully with a screen that's not messed up. For reference, replacement note 8 also shipped from WI.
Went to BB today to play with a demo model. I am in love. Leaps and bounds better than my note 4. I cant wait for friday. I know i can order online and get it sooner but i dont have my UAG case yet so ill wait. Id rather have my case before i get my phone. I dont want the camera and have more use for the charger and the memory card so i think ill be okay and those will still be available.
Last week I went to order my uag case on Amazon to find out that they were out of stock. With the early release of Tuesday I was nervous, thought about getting a cheap one off Amazon to tide me over till the uag gets here, but didn't really want to spend another $10 for a case. Fortunately my authorized Verizon dealer in town had a couple in stock last Monday and was cheaper with my employee discount.
I tried so many cases with my s8 plus and the uag was the one I finally kept. This time around I went straight to the uag case again, and it didn't disappoint. I don't understand why Verizon don't sell these, it's a lot better case then a lot of the cases they offer.

Thanks for the link. It’s a state law so that makes sense for why I had heard of it (I don’t live in your state). I gave it a read and that law shure looks like it was set up to protect people from scams not to let you keep someone else’s misdeliverd stuff. In fact It sates
“Additionally, if you believe unordered merchandise was sent to you in error, you may wish to return the unopened merchandise or mail a letter to the sender explaining the problem and asking it to arrange for the merchandise’s return.”
You said the invoice had someone else’s name and address on it so you clearly not a scam someone was trying to get you to pay for. So I stick with my original statement that what you did was pretty crapy and probably illegal. Lucky for you B.B. will just take the loss rather than spend twice $ that in court. Unlucky everyone in the long run because the way companies cover losses like that is raising prices.
I am going for the monarch as i want maximum protection but want something nicer than otterbox. Turns out they are not shipping those out yet. Likley wont get mine for two more weeks. Ugh

What I don't understand is, if we "pre-order" this phone, why will we not get them first? Why pre-order it if on the day it's released I get my phone, when everyone else gets them? And the same thing with the promotion, I thought it was if you pre-ordered the phone you get the free gift, if you go on Samsungs website, anyone purchasing between 8/24 and 9/24 gets the free gift. This is bull. I will be going into best buy tomorrow and asking them that question........
I think if your order is by 9/24, you qualify for the free gifts. I'm sure you'll get your phone by then.

That's what I'm hoping doesn't happen. That's why I pre-ordered. But I guess that doesn't matter. I remember before we got our gift WHEN we pre-ordered, not when we got the phone.

So I'd pre-ordered two N8's at Best Buy for in-person pick-up. Been out of the loop for the past week - so people are really going back, cancelling in-person, and re-ordering online and getting them sooner?!?
So if I head over there tonight and do the above, you guys think we'll be able to get our phones mid-week? Or should we just wait it out at this point? Any availability issues with Grey vs Black?

Its anyones guess. Some have had success, some have not. At this point idk if its worth the risk. It does appear the black ones are abundant and the grey ones are in short supply.
I am thinking of canceling my order with Samsung and ordering through BB. Has anyone ordered, in the last few days, an unlocked N8 and received a tracking number or if its been delivered? Thanks!
