BestBuy: Galaxy Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

Just great! They jacked around with my delivery so long that now it is delayed indefinitely per new UPS message BB sending my phone ground was the biggest problem! Then UPS driving around Ohio for almost 2 days was the other. Grrrrr, so disappointed!

It's disgraceful

It is disgraceful. I think deep down we all want the brick and mortar stores like BB to succeed, be right around the corner for convenience. Obviously, poor planning and bad management of running a dual operation of online and in-store purchases like this situation make us all realize that times have changed and it's only a matter of time that Best Buy stores will probably be gone and we will all be ordering from online corps. Sad, but true.

They've lost my business, that's for sure.

If we took a count of who swore off Best buy last year and then reordered this year we would be surprised how high that number would be.

I just don't understand how the stores and online can't operate as one. I know they are seeing these phones hitting the streets, why not get them out of the store so they aren't just sitting on the product. I mean we all pre-ordered them with the hopes of receiving them early. I think I will go by there and how the manager this thread.

we got a problem. Think my note 8 screen and power button are busted. Think an exchange needs to happen. :( i'd much rather run to the closest bb and do an exchange. It already was headache inducing enough to pre order online. Y'all think i can get a exchange done in store this weekend or will i have to wait until the 15th? I don't wanna miss out on the pre order stuff either.

You most likely will have to wait until after the 15th because they haven't even dispersed the pre-orders yet, so I know they don't have them on the shelf.

i'm willing to bet if i would exchange online, i wouldn't get exchange until 15th either. :( will call customer service when they open and will report back.

I recall a couple posts indicating there are were no UPS signature requirements with your N8 deliveries. Can anyone else confirm this to be the case? Mine is scheduled for delivery today to home but nobody will be there. I am wondering if I need to reroute to another address if signature is needed. Thanks for any input!

Just thinking out loud, maybe also check with your cell carrier as well to see if they can assist with options.

Ugh! Now I really am upset! My co-worker just walked in with his VERIZON NOTE 8!!!! I am so tempted to take him to best buy with me to show them that people are getting them early!!!!

I feel you. My wife got her midnight black yesterday. Still no movement on my Orchid Gray. I'm tempted to cancel, as color won't mean much once a case is on. But my luck my new order would get put in the back of the queue. If I get my phone by the 15th I'll be ok with that. If it takes longer, I will be... annoyed(not sure if I can say the actual word lol). But knowing that some are getting theirs already does make it harder to be ok with waiting.

I'm going to bb tonight after work see if I can have any luck last weekend they told me they were hopefully releasing then today but also said they would start calling people but no call yet lol

Ordered 9/7 @ 10 am (VZW Black), shipped by 5 pm, and out for delivery 9/8 @ 4 am. I'm impressed. Next up, the $480 trade in credit for my Note 5. Hope it works.

my thoughts exactly

So I spent about 2 hours on the phone yesterday between BB customer service & Samsung. Best Buy is pinning the blame on Samsung for them not being able to release in store pre orders until the 15th. Samsung reps say they have no idea why BB is holding the phones. It's a viscous cycle. I just find it funny that every person I talked to on BB's end said a different thing. The last woman I spoke with said that they were just waiting for authorization from Samsung to be able to release the pre ordered phones in stores. I just stopped at the BB that I ordered the phone at and the manager said they have all of the phones, but Samsung is holding them captive until they get confirmation otherwise. It's just frustrating. The manager told me I was his first preorder when I did it back on 8/24. I hate to beat a dead horse, but it makes absolutely no sense to me that pre ordered phones online are being shipped out through BB, Samsung and every provider, but the people that bit the bullet and ordered in store for pick up have to wait until release day. You'd think that after the note7 catastrophe, they'd be doing everything they could to keep their customers happy. (preorder is for Sprint N8 Orchid Gray)
