BestBuy: Galaxy Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

I know I’m personally angry because online preorders got delivered early, whereas I have to wait for the actual release date.

After preordering the iPhone 5s awhile back, i swore I’d never do business with them again. That was the biggest mess whatsoever.

And look at me now... still preordering phones through them and also working for them smdh lol
I think BB lost a lot of customers over this. I will avoid them now for everything. I always check them and have had positive experiences overall, but this time soured me based on the chaos alone. either they need a new software system or they need a new system of some other sort.
 
With this MUCH AGGRAVATION, it's almost NOT WORTH the price difference!!

I have seen a few posts mentioning the issue of getting your device activated as well. What's going on with that, TF?

Oh, one more thought... tomorrow the iphone pre orders start @ Best Buy too! It's going to be crazy busy! We'll be lucky to get ANY half way decent service no offense, Pirarre! Just curious, anyone call B.B to complain about what happened today?

I also told myself if I had my phone by friday I was fine with that. Getting it early is nice, but the 15th was the expected date. My order has now been "preparing" for 2 or 3 days now. Called bestbuy and all they said was that an order can sometimes sit in preparing for 3 days. at this point I would be surprised to have it by Friday.

Some people that already drove to the store and then back home might be upset, LOL

I'm glad that people are getting their awesome phones!!! :-)

I ordered the Note 8 on September 7, the unlocked black version, and they still won't ship mine. I've called Best Buy every single day this week and no one will do anything about my order. One supervisior said Samsung wouldn't let them release the unlocked version, but I called Samsung and they sait it wasn't true.

Still...no phone. :-(
 
I just got off the phone with my local store and they have released the phones as well... It may be a good day after all!
 
I must be one of the lucky ones, I ordered mine Friday the 8th and it was delivered yesterday---ILove this Note8!!!!
 
Just got off the phone with my local Best Buy. They are not releasing today because it was "only in certain circumstances". I pushed him and he admitted it was because of the email that people received but they are not following and are not releasing until tomorrow. They are also not opening early at all and didn't confirm if they even had my note. What BS this whole thing has been. Maybe I need to just go up there and make a scene, because I have had enough.
 
I had problems activating mine... turns out mine had 2 SIM cards... one already in the phone, and one connected to a credit card. Sprint chat activated the phone with the SIM card that was attached to the credit card. So I switched them around, and it worked. Be sure you're on a strong WIFI as well. That was also an issue as the phone tries to connect to the network and get the roaming to work. I had problems with almost nothing working, so out of frustration I moved to another room and that fixed my problem. Now everything works great!

I left my store (Virginia) about 11AM and of course he said he would get fired if he released them. I wouldn't believe anything they say now!
 
@pirarre - question since you said you're an employee.

Can I just swing into my BB today/tomorrow, pick up my phones, and activate them later in the day? I ask, because I'm getting one for my wife & I, and she'll be at work when I can swing by to get them. Don't want her current phone deactivated because I had to activate her N8 in the store.
