Re: good or bad

@Androiduzer: I assume your accusation is directed at me. I said I don't remember exactly how long I've had their service, my original cell service was with a company called Select Cellular or Select Wireless or something like that, eventually it morphed into Sprint. In any case, that's completely irrelevant to the OP's question, & your comment about Sprint being "crap" is useless. Their service might not be good in your area but it's perfectly fine in mine as well as for many other people. Anyone looking for service just needs to do their homework by looking at the the coverage maps & websites that were previously pointed out.

Re: good or bad

Sprint has been in the cellular business continuously since 1993. They had other cellular service priort to that but sold it off.

Re: promos

Not really but I was grandfathered in at a great price and got more discounts with the larger data choice.

If your phone supports being a hot spot, it should work. Cricket does not restrict tethering. It works just fine on my unlocked Nexus 6, my old Motorola Moto X 2013, and my wife AT&T Note 2.

Re: What are the pros and cons of Cricket Wireless?

Only problem is no hot spot. If i pay for data i want to use it how i want. Will they fix this?

There's nothing broken as far as they're concerned. So if your question is whether they'll allow tethering--that's up to them. I had tried Aio Wireless a while back and even though tethering was prohibited in the ToS, unofficially it may have worked. So if my recollection is correct, that may still be the case. Or not, if AT&T chose to tighten things.

I just read on Cricket's website that the old CDMA allows hot spot and tethering while the GSM does not.

Now the rep at the Cricket store said you can and I have been able to tether on their GSM network. When I signed up it was a feature they offered back on December. Now it's absent on their website.

They completed the network in 1996 and launched cell service in 1997..... http://www.sprint.com/companyinfo/history/

They also bought Centel in 1993 and then rebranded and sold it off in 1998. This was only in 18 states.

When sprint bought a national wide spectrum in the PCS band in 1994, it then sold off the former service to focus on PCS.

So yes Sprint PCS was established in 1997 but the parent has been active continuously since 1993 in the cell phone business.

Don't feed the trolls. Ignore them and move on or hit the report button. Do not engage with them or it becomes trolling on your own part.

Re: promos

Will they have any deals on my unlimited data lines, maybe like half price unlimited data. Verizon gets $535 a month from me, I would love some more discounts

You have a big bill. How many lines do you have? That is a car payment and nore.

I have 11 lines. All are data lines, 4 are unlimited data. So it averages $49 a line. No matter how hard Verizon tries, they can't get my plan cheaper. Four of those lines get $20 monthly text data credit, so I'm only paying $10 month for data on those lines.

Forgot, also have a home connect line for home phone

Re: promos

Total due is a lot of money, but average line charge is in line. I have insurance on the lines, that's $40 a month just for insurance. But one nice thing with a high bill like this, when I call in for something, I usually get more attention. You should have seen it when I went to another carrier to get pricing last summer and they found out I had 11 lines, They were tripping over themselves to get me to sign up. Lol. But $49 a line isn't terrible, it would be $44 without insurance.

Are you using all 11 lines? YOu can suspend the lines if you are not using them. You do not have to pay monthly for the suspended lines. It will extend the contract if you do suspend it.
