My loudmouth friend (who works for ATT) was going on about his iPhone4 and iPad - both of which he brought to Buffalo Wild Wings where we were eating and watching UFC. We were sitting at a table full of our friends and this guy keeps talking louder and louder about his iCrap.

Since he was A) Starting to talk over the sound of the UFC program and B) Going on and on about inferior devices, I pulled my Evo out of my pocket and chucked it like a throwing star across the table and hit him square in the face with it.

My Evo didn't take any damage, but if I would have had a Seidio case on it he probably would have been spared a trip to the dentist for a chipped tooth.

Alright fine, I'm a liar. What can I say, I baby my phone and have had no close calls...YET :)

Three days ago I was taking my phone out of my pocket to answer a call when a co-worker bumped in to me and I lost my handle on the phone as it began to slip out of my grasp. I juggled with it and just caught it about two inches before it would have hit (and doubtlessly been destroyed by) the tile floor in our breakroom. I was thinking, "Thank God!!!!!" I desperately need a case!!

False economy or when a cheap case costs you $500

I own a moving service so I work moving jobs every day in all weather and all hours. But if I am out of touch I am out of business. For these reasons the office needs to be in my pocket to the degree and extent that that is possible.

This is hard, rugged, work so I was nervous about working with my brand new evo in my shirt pocket but I bought a cheap shell case and hoped for the best. After a couple close calls of the smooth case sliding out of my pocket as I bent over I put it into my front pants pocket. I had forgotten about it until I was carrying a piano up a flight of stairs. I was in a tight spot when I heard a sickening CRACK. My heart sank.

A Seidio case would have prevented the close calls and near catastrophe when the cheap case snapped.

The rubber textured surface would not have slipped out out of my shirt pocket and would have flexed under direct pressure and not have broken. Not to mention moisture protection in a hot sweaty uniform pocket.

Lesson learned, I ordered my Seidio active case yesterday and the holster today.

I have a hyper 2 (almost three) year old who doesn't sit well for long periods of time (any surprise?). My wife and I can never go out to dinner without packing toys/books/crayons/... etc. That is, until I picked up my EVO. With YouTube streaming kids tv shows we are once again able to head out into public places like restaurants. However, each time kiddo gets near the EVO, she wants to hold onto the phone and man it freaks me out. So I would say that every time I stream kids shows/music I am risking my phone.

I have 3 kids including my 6 year old son who likes to watch videos and play games on dad's "big phone" (Evo). My son has dropped my phone a few times, most of the time over the carpet, but a few times over the tile and wood floors. I have been very lucky that it only has one nicked corner right now, but I am sure that a Seidio case would sure help extend the phones life and make me feel a little better about letting him play with the phone. Hope I am lucky enough to win one!

So I have a regular flip phone by Samsung and my 2 year old decides to throw it like a ball. I just watched it fly through the air in slow motion and it landed, battery scattering one way, the phone the other way. Now the LCD screens don't work. The phone is all scratched up. I've been waiting for the latest and greatest up till now but I decided to take the plunge and upgrade my phone and my wife's phone to the Evo.

I would love to get a case so this doesn't happen again.

I know my son will love the touch capabilities and want to play with it.

I play hockey 3 days a week. 2 days after getting my EVO, after hockey I picked up my shorts to put them on. I accidentally picked them up upside down and out fell my prized possession. It fell screen down right onto the blade of my stick. Luckily I escaped without any harm that time. It about gave me a heart attack though.

I have (or should say had) the bodyglove case and though slim and pretty, not much else to say. My phone dropped a mere 18 inches onto cement. Because it landed on the corner, and since the case is a two-piece, it split open causing scuffs and scrapes on both the case and multiple corners of the phone; something I'm hoping the Innocase would do a better job of in the future.

wholly pages batman!

I tend to try and minimize the impact when I drop things so I usually try to catch it with my hands or feet. Most of the time I can sort of break the fall with my foot. Maybe 25% of the time I'll actually catch it on my foot.

Well, this one time (at band camp, haha) I tried to catch it with my foot and ended up kicking it across the room on the concrete. Case is pretty well scratched up but my EVO is fine.

I fortunately haven't had any troublesome drops or near misses with my EVO, but when I had my Pre it had a crack along the top edge of the screen due to the crappy holster I had then letting it fall out. Man that phone was terrible. Never got a case for it since it was a slider... I am so over those things.

Hey AndroidCentral

I Don't Have Story On How I Saved My EVO, But I Would Love To Win One Because I'm Headed To Vegas On The First Weekend In August.

That Being Said, I'm Going To Buy And Evo So I Can Use It There (4G)... So I Don't Want Come Back Withe A Broken Phone.

Thanks!

Ok so I was cleaning out my wife's car. I pulled the huge double stroller out of the back. I was walking through the garage when the automatic light from my garage door opener went off (did I mention it was 10 at night) so in the black I stumbled holding the large stroller in both hands. I tripped over some clutter and the stroller went flying. It landed against a wall and I left it there. Upset I walked into the house.

Almost two hours later, I realized my phone is not attached the holster. I search my house up and down. I call it frantically. Then I remember the stroller. I run in the garage expecting to find my EVO in pieces. I search everywhere, nothing. I use my wife's phone to call my EVO and I hear it ringing, from the bottom of the stroller in the pouch. Somehow my phone fell into the stroller as I fell and landed safely in the padded pouch.

Too close.

I take my phone with me wherever I go. Last week, I went to take shower and of course I took my phone with me in the bathroom. Before going in the shower I put my phone on the window. Then I went to take shower, I was in the middle of taking shower when my phone alarm went off. As my alarm went off, my phone started to vibrate also. I couldn't get out of shower to turn it off. And guess what, because my phone was vibrating it fell of the edge of window on to the floor of my bathroom. The window is about 4 feet high. As soon as I heard my phone dropping my heart beat stop for a second. I jumped out of the shower and saw my baby on the floor laying face down but guess what it survived. Nothing much happend to it. Since then I decided I need a protection for my sweetheart Evo. And I think Seido is the best choice....

Only time mine was dropped. . .
I was getting ready to go out to a bar with the GF. I told her earlier to make sure I didnt drop my phone (already had a few shots and figured she could help me with this task) lol
She said to just give it to her and she would hold it. . . pftt! Let someone else hold my Evo! Yea right.

So about an hour or so later much deeper in the bag, I take my phone out of my pocket and damn me if I dont drop it on the damn floor of the club.
although I had a crappy Bodyglove case on, I guess im glad I had something. Case was knicked up, but it was junk anyway.
I still kickmyself in the ass because I knew it was gonna happen that night cuz I wanted to keep playing with it like a little kid. lol

I have a Sedio Active on order now, but would rather have one for free or different color or something. hahahahha

so i got my new EVO 4 on Saturday at 1:00pm from Best Buy, that is about an hour away. After spending 35 min in the store to get this sweet piece of machinery, i was on my way home. I got home and went to get out of my truck, and the next thing i know is my brand new EVO is bouncing off on the asphalt. I tried to purchase a cover for it while at Best Buy, but they were all out. so now my "new" phone has a scratch on all 4 corners. I have tried to find a decent cover, but have not been able to. i really need a cover...

About 3 weeks ago my beautifully modded EVO fell out of the front pocket of my shirt. Having been around cell phones long enough, you'd think i would know better than to put the phone in that pocket as its a disaster waiting to happen, but i digress. Right on queue, gravity did it's job and the phone went tumbling from my shirt pocket. My natural instinct, which in hind sight was dumb, was to try and stop the phone from falling with my foot. In my mind i was imagining i would catch it like you'd catch a hackey sack on your foot. Unfortunately I was never good at playing hackey sack so the result was i punted my phone about 8 feet across the room into my wall. I have spent considerable time trying to rub off the dry wall that's now ingrained into the corner of my black EVO. Also had a little chunk of white paint that flaked off the wall and conveniently wedged itself between where the screen and body of the phone meet. I managed to get the chunk of paint out from the corner of the screen, and am really close to having the dry wall completely removed.

Hook a brotha up with a case :) !! Please?

I have three boys 5,7, and 9 that like to fight over who gets to play with my EVO..... I'm living on borrowed time.

Had the phone plugged into the charger sitting on my lap while driving and using the GPS. Guy or girl cut me off and I had to swerve and hit my brakes to avoid. Hear this nice solid thunk as the phone hits my break pedal. No damage, but I was awfully lucky in the way it hit obviously.
