Anybody having a issue with Google maps and navigation giving a need data error? If so what radio /baseband are you on, I am on V9.

Thanks

GPS locks in GPS status app, and I have data, using it now.

To answer my question VC baseband is needed for GPS inside Google navigation /maps. I flashed the 005 kernel and Google maps fired right up, but I lost auto rotate. Lol

Ah, sorry guys. I'm still having an issue with the non visual cm telling me I have a voicemail and can't clear the icon. It followed me from nightly 18 to 20. I've stopped G Voice service, and sent myself a vm using another phone. I am lost.
When I use my nand backup to return to ThundeROM then it stays away.

Don't make a nandroid backup with a voicemail icon showing, then restore when the voice is cleared, and not expect problems. In any Android build.

noticed today sending pics through text doesnt seem to be working, just contiunally says sending, I noticed on the issues thread mms was already listed and it said fixed so curious if im missing something

Use a 3rd party SMS, like Handcent. There is not proper Sprint support in AOSP.

Guys it would be alot easier if we could find a list of issues in the heroc CM7 build and compare to that instead of aiming me blind on issues I probably can't fix ever.

I am on V9. GPS works great for me in maps and nav.

In fact I haven't had any bugs that seem specific to baseband.

Weird that mine was buggy. I did the whole VC switch and no issues like before. Glad its working for you :)

Location is still somewhat broken. fourquare and FB places wont work with out the gps being on, and wireless location is on in location menu. Anonymous data was selected at the begining. Google maps is fine though so I'm guessing its something about GB that FS and FB is not complying with. I just nandroid back to TR 1.6.2 and it works.

Just updated to VC, as far as I can tell there's no functional differences. Colors seem a bit better, but that could just be me being glad to have my theme back after awhile D:

Someone many pages back said the GPS problems might be related to the "let google collect location information" setting that you first choose when starting up the Market. If it wasn't checked, no GPS. And he didn't know how to get at the option after passing through the market setup....

you might need to turn on use gps sattelites by going into settings location and security and check the checkbox for gps.

I have gps working for me on v9 baseband. For a while it wasn't getting a location fix, but I just cleared cache/davlik a rebooted a couple times, and it started working. First fix took a while but after that it's perfect now. And for the record, I never checked the location information setting at the beginning, and my location is determined not using gps satellites (in the privacy settings). So it is possible. Just play around till it works I guess..

Come to think of it, that could be why I never had issues. I have my settings backed up with Titanium backup and I believe that includes the privacy settings (or at least, I haven't fiddled with them recently) and I did wipe everything every time I installed a new nightly (including running the debug system format zip) so thinking that's probably it :P

GPS works fine on all builds for me. What doesnt work is network and wireless location even though they are check in the settings menu. I cant get a list of places in FB or foursquare unless I turn on the gps. FS throws up a message saying to turn on gps or wireless location
