Re: Drew's CyanogenMod Hacking thread (current build: 07/27/2011)

What's the upgrade??

Eh, not an upgrade really, kinda a side-move...LOL I got the Motorola "Milestone" (Droid1 basically), because I had to switch providers.

They've done some pretty awesome things for this phone, but...the community in the forums over there isn't nearly as awesome as the guys over here. LOL >_>

Hello,

So I was messing around with settings earlier and now my power button does not turn off the screen. It does, however, turn on the screen. Anyone know what I did, and how to fix it? Any help appreciated!

Mike

Try settings >Cyanogenmod settings >Lockscreen > Unlock options. Especially the "menu unlock" option if your "menu" button is what's unlocking now. Best rule is when your messing with settings keep track of what you're doing. Change one thing @ a time and check and see if you like it especially if you're not 100% sure what you're changing.

That didn't work. Everything unlocks the phone including the Power button, however none of the buttons including the power button turns the screen off. It is rather annoying because then I have to wait for the screen to time out. Oh well, I'll just nandroid back and see if that fixes it. Thanks anyways.

Until you get a fix maybe change the timeout time to like 5 seconds. To save battery

Download link is working fine for me. Drew is in the mountains too, iirc.
Maybe try a different browser.

Here's your fix
Settings -> CyanogenMod Settings ->Tablet settings.

As a matter of fact, I'd assume you were like "hmm lets see whats here" and tried it and be like "woah cool thats handylol" only to later find out all the buttons, unless mod'd will wake your phone on some roms.

Re: Drew's CyanogenMod Hacking thread (current build: 07/27/2011)

I like this ROM but the deal breaker for me is Swype does NOT work. I downloaded the Swype 3.6 Beta like I had back on Reborn and it doesn't work. I'm still stuck with the standard Android keyboard which I hate.

Might double check your input settings swype beta works fine for me.

Re: Drew's CyanogenMod Hacking thread (current build: 07/27/2011)

swype beta works for me too. First try to generate a new license from the Swype installer, if you restored from Titanium backup. If that doesnt work. Make sure you install the Swype installer first and download swype beta again.

Swype beta works, I've been using it now. In all seriousness, I wouldn't use any custom ROM of I couldn't use Swype.

Something you did wasn't right...start over at beta.swype.com.

Re: Drew's CyanogenMod Hacking thread (current build: 07/27/2011)

Yeah it's working now. I was actually in the process of taking a video to post on here for you guys to see and then stumbled upon where the setting was to switch it from "Android Keyboard" to "Swype" cause it's been removed from the "Language and Keyboard" menu.

I noticed it when I was backing out of all the stuff I had opened and it was part of the Swype install

I so totally love this ROM, minus the Bluetooth not working. It's practically perfect. Been using it for a few days and it's the best work I have seen.
One small thing, I dont know if it is the ROM, but today out of nowhere when I try to make a call out from my contact list, it says "Call has been lost." If I dial the number manually it works. and I can receive calls. Any ideas?

Yeah I just ran into that same issue with BT not working. I didn't know that until now lol

Re: Drew's CyanogenMod Hacking thread (current build: 07/27/2011)

spoiler: the bluetooth issue was related to the IHO repository Blarf has updated the IHO source to fix that so it may be resolved in the near future.

Yes but Bluetooth headsets are still broken.

Super spoiler: something really cool may be ready for the 08/02/2011 build. Not telling anything else ;)

Go into your contacts and remove the 1 in front of the number. Example should be xxx-xxx-xxxx take the 1 out. Problem solved?

I haven't been able to get Swype beta to install (I think it's an Optimus V issue) but I was able to restore the original Swype that came with my Optimus V. Problem was there were no check boxes for the Android keyboard OR Swype keyboard, just a settings menu for both.

Do you guys have check boxes to select a keyboard? If this has been removed can we get it back?

A third keyboard (Thick Buttons) I installed shows a check box and settings however it doesn't work properly, you can type but the buttons don't enlarge as they should and the text you type has a bunch of numbers displayed under them.

I FINALLY got Swype to be the default keyboard by going into Swype Settings and selecting the tutorial which popped up a window asking me to select the Android or Swype keyboard. I don't know how I would go about switching between the two without the check boxes.

Is anyone getting "The application Settings (process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly." and having to force close?

I get this from a few different places in the settings menu such as trying to change the screen brightness.

I'm not sure if this is an incompatibility issue with mmarz's Sprint-to-OV_ath3nos_signed.zip script but everything else seems to work so far and this ROM is super fast!

Thanks-
