Re: Drew's CyanogenMod Hacking thread (current build: 07/27/2011)

Are you running any custom ROMs?

What problem are you asking for help on? I'm sort of confused. At first I thought you were having the same issue I was with getting the Swype Beta to work, but then I saw later in your post (an unedited post at that?) that you figured it out. Are you reporting now that you're getting those errors now only?

If you're running a custom ROM I would suggest reflashing the ROM and\or uninstalling the apps you are using when those errors occur. One thing I've noticed is some apps don't properly transfer from a backup to another ROM so redownload and reinstall it and then it should quit the errors (if it's related to that)

Only thing holding me back is the bluetooth problem. Get that fixed and I am there.

Re: Drew's CyanogenMod Hacking thread (current build: 07/27/2011)

Drew: Hope your trip was most enjoyable.

Quick Question: I prefer to make/receive calls with headphones plugged into the headset jack and bring the handset near my mouth to use the device's built-in microphone to talk. Unfortunately, when my headphones are plugged in during a call I can hear the caller but they can't hear me when I have the headphones plugged in (if I unplug the headphones and hold the device to my ear, there is no problem hearing the caller or being heard by the caller); Is there something that I might do to alleviate this issue?

Thanks, in advance, for your help; I really appreciate it.

MISSING: Toggle Google Voice

Upon installing Google voice on this version of CM7 I was presented with a new (never seen by me) option asking if I wanted to use my sprint number or my Google Voice number.

I assume this is due to the formal Sprint/GVoice integration that is now live. But, in past installations of Gvoice I was never presented with this option. BUT I did have the option to "toggle Google Voice" via a shortcut. This shortcut is nowe gone.

I suspect this is a bigger issue than somethign with just this version of CM7. And it's kind of a big deal since I picked the Google Voice number option, and now people I call and text see my calls coming from my Gvoice number... and I don't see a way to change that! Is there any way to roll back to the old way? I want to toggle like I used too.

Go onto voice.google.com and go into settings and click the little gear thing and goto voice settings and then check out phones and then poke around in there.

because i had it set to run my text messages too, but it was a pain to delete the messages from there.

Ahhh! I think I figured it out. If one doesn't want to do the Sprint/Google integration, look for the SKIP button on the first screen of GVoice setup. This is easily missed since you have to scroll down to see it, and because the Next button that takes you through the integration process is so visible.

I uninstalled, deactivated my integration on Voice.google.com and re-installed. The "toggle" shortcut is back. The one thing I still have to check is that my outgoing caller ID number is back to my Sprint number. Hopefully that wasn't a permanent change.

This is a known issue and should be fixed in tomorrow's build.

Awesome! Thank you so much Drew, for me this will solidify your ROM the best-of the-best for the Optimus S.

I just realized I totally misread your issue. My brain is tired, please forgive me. I thought you were talking about a bluetooth-related issue that should be fixed in tomorrow's build.

Your issue is still a known issue, and is actively being investigated. Hopefully I can fix it before tomorrow's build release but no guarantees.

How do I disable all of the buttons turning the screen on? I would prefer just the power button.

Thanks Drew, I appreciate the follow-up.
Hope you had a great trip!

Great job on this Drew. I am going to do one more build for CM this week and then devoting my time to a vanilla Gingerbread build. I am referring people here for your builds. Great job on the kernel by the way. I have no clue when it comes to kernel work. I'm sure I could do some damage though, lol.

[INFO]Build Release Imminent!

I've decided to switch tomorrow's build to today because I've done something absolutely exciting with this ROM that has only been accomplished on one other device in a CM7 ROM. That's enough of a hint for now, so stay tuned![/INFO]
