Re: Drew's CyanogenMod Hacking thread (current build: 07/27/2011)

This version of CM7 has to be the best ROM ever for the Optimus S. I switched over from Reborn, and I can already see my phone is alot more responsive and it has higher benchmarks also. Just one question regarding battery life though...Should this ROM be used with a battery saving app like Juicedefender, or should it just be left alone?

Want my recommendation? ph_collin battery tweak. Works perfect right after flashing!

Is there any way to assign the now-native Screenshot function to a hardware button?
I'd rather like to put my presently-unused Search button to use for something.

This I already knew about, yes, but I don't think that would allow me to set up a button to screenshot. I don't know quite how to phrase it, but... I don't think that screenshot function would be implemented as a possible... "macro to be set as a hardware button", I guess? At least not just yet.
If it's possible to add a new macro and have it call the same screenshot function the power-off menu's screenshot button does, that'd be pretty much perfect; then people would be able to assign screenshotting as they wished.

Is there a way to force the wifi connection to stay on even when the phone is sleeping

See if you turned it on in Settings/wireless/wifi settings/ press the menu button and click advanced. Then change the wifi sleep policy. Mine stays on.

Guys, I'm so sad. I'm no longer an Optimus user. But I'm going to keep it, and use it solely for Google Voice, just so I can still be around. Hahaha!

Actually, I'd love to map that to my Voice Dialer button. It's the least used by me

Hello,

So I was messing around with settings earlier and now my power button does not turn off the screen. It does, however, turn on the screen. Anyone know what I did, and how to fix it? Any help appreciated!

First and foremost, thank you so much for your AMAZING work on this Drew!!! This ROM should be named "Flawless ROM" because it pretty much is.

Quick Question for my fellow DrewROMers: Has anyone had an issue with the Gmail app synching with the web-based inbox? I've noticed that when I read a message on my device it does NOT mark that message as read on the web-based Gmail site. I've checked all of my settings both on the Gmail app and the browser based email and haven't had an issue. This has only occurred since my switch to Drew's ROM. (For the record: YES I wiped absolutely everything before flashing this ROM, Gapps & the Kernel and I followed the instructions step-by-step.

Thanks, in advance, for your thoughtful feedback.

The easiest way to fix it is to do reflash the rom. You don't have to wipe anything just flash right over top of it.

I actually already tried that, and it still wont turn the screen off.
