Re: Drew's CyanogenMod Hacking thread (current build: 07/27/2011)

Hey Guys. Ill post this see if anyone has a fix for this. Im trying to figure out how to make the phone go into ONLY roam mode. I used to use the program that Nick7 had on his rom Reborn, unfortunately it don't work in this version of android and im kind of at a loss of how to turn roam on.

Main reason I need it is where I live Sprint gets 0-1 Bar and the Verizon one that I roam on is a full 5 bars. And sense sprint seems hell bent on not allowing the phone to roam unless I lose signal all the way.

Re: Drew's CyanogenMod Hacking thread (current build: 07/27/2011)

That's what I meant. You may have installed Google Maps from the market initially but using Titanium Backup reverses that.

I'll elaborate. When you restore an app using Titanium Backup, the system views the app as a non-Market app, even if the app itself is available in the Market. Only when you install an app specifically with the Market app does it show up in My Apps. Same applies with app updates.

Actually, TiBu restores the market link, so it shouldn't work that way, and never has in the past. If you're using the new market, it uses a different linking system, but includes Amazon App Store apps on my list, so I'm not sure how that system works. Maybe the shadow knows.

It won't work for this rom. Can't force it, however there an option to allow it to roam....

Re: Drew's CyanogenMod Hacking thread (current build: 07/27/2011)

Flashed it, I'll play with it for a few days to see how I like it....

I don't know if this has happened to anybody else but when I open the Android Market->My Apps
all of my apps that I have restores (as a batch) with Titanium backup are not listed there. There is nothing every time I click on My Apps even though all my apps are already restored and working fine on my phone.

I tried clearing to clearing the Android market's data and cache but still do not find my apps on the android market.
You may have to re-attach to the market. For example Google maps: in Titanium backup press and hold Google maps and a list of options will come up and one of them will be to force attach to market.
Titanium backup allows you to attached apps you installed from different sources to the market. Very sample and quick.

I am going to flash this version of CM7, and Im coming from a Reborn ROM v2.2.2. Just to clarify, I do not have to download and flash the kernel, do I? What does this kernel do? Thank you

I just flashed, but I dont happen to have the Swype keyboard. Do I need to reflash?

Coming from reborn, just remember to clear everything from recovery menu before flashing. The kernel adds improved battery life and functionality specifically for this rom...
And flash this:

after clearing everything. It makes sure that your fresh install will go as planned. Good luck!

EDIT: just realized that you are asking about swype now... disregard my post

Re: Drew's CyanogenMod Hacking thread (current build: 07/27/2011)

CM7 seems to run alot faster and smoother on the Optimus S. I will post my feedback in a few days ago, but so far so good. The only issue I have right now is getting Sprint Visual Voicemail to work

Use Google voice. Its visual voicemail, just make sure you cligk skip in the setup when it asks about merging/syncing your sprint number. That's not what you want. Enjoy!

[INFO]I'm leaving.

But only for a few days! In an hour from the time of this writing, I'll be on my way up to the amazing Rocky Mountains. Unfortunately I will not have any access to the forums and won't be around to answer questions during this time. No parties, kids. And the house better be clean when I get back. LMFAO!!![/INFO]
