Re: Drew's CyanogenMod Hacking thread (current build: 07/27/2011)

I would guess that Profile/PRL updates will not work with this, If I do go to this from ReBORN,how is my SD card's data affected?

Re: Drew's CyanogenMod Hacking thread (current build: 07/27/2011)

any else experiencing network issues with the latest rom? webpages take awhile to load up. the phone says 3g with three bars, but for a page to load i have close it and then reopen the page.

Been using almost 24 hrs now like the quickness of this rom. Mixed feelings on battery life, I'd say its good in general. Did notice I can't change my power bar Widgets. The ones visible when you pull down status bar. System wont let me change but that's minor. Nice work

I'm just a bit curious as to what you're trying to change, exactly, with that power widget. I've been able to add/remove things, change the indicator color, etc with no problems.

2.3.5, niiiiiice :D. Seems pretty stable thus far. Have had a few lag issues, but once its been up and running, its been nothing short of spectacular. Thanks for all of your effort Drew

I want to remove Bluetooth and add lock/unlock option. I don't use bluetooth

I also want to add the brightness toggle option. On Scott Pilgrim I had wifi, GPS, sound on/off, brightness and screen lock. I've changed it, rebooted and it didn't change. I shouldn't even have to reboot. Also I tried removing it and re adding. All I get are the same 4. Bluetooth, sound, wifi and GPS. Even with that this is still a nice rom. Also I don't know if this matters but I used titanium backup pro to restore my cyanogenmod settings from s.p.

No problems with power Widgets in the notification bar myself. Added and removed some. Was backed up with titanium as well. Should be able to fit 6 before you need to scroll through them.

Re: Drew's CyanogenMod Hacking thread (current build: 07/27/2011)

What is smartass governor can anyone elaborate?

Sent from my LG-LS670 using Tapatalk
SMARTASS GOVERNOR - is based on the concept of the interactive governor.
I have always agreed that in theory the way interactive works - by taking over the idle loop - is very attractive. I have never managed to tweak it so it would behave decently in real life. Smartass is a complete rewrite of the code plus more. I think its a success. Performance is on par with the "old" minmax and I think smartass is a bit more responsive. Battery life is hard to quantify precisely but it does spend much more time at the lower frequencies.
Smartass will also cap the max frequency when sleeping to 245Mhz (or if your min frequency is higher than 245 - why?! - it will cap it to your min frequency). Lets take for example the 998/245 kernel, it will sleep at 245. No need for sleep profiles any more!

Props to some dude named MDJ who explained this over at [Q] SetCPU governors (explained) - xda-developers

I really am curious to be able to overclock my phone and have it stable. Each time I try to oc pass 806 or whatever it automatically reboots....I overclock using the cyanogen settings and using android overclock both of which result in reboots. Could someone give me some pointers?? Thankss!!!!!! :)

Your phone simply just can't go that high. Some people can clock past that some people can't even go to 748 , just the nature of the beast.

For me I get reboots at 806.

Build Date: 07/27/2011
Build Time: 2:30 PM MST (approximate)
Download: Download Here
Info: Stock IHO repo + my Phone mod + my Settings mods
Google Apps: Download Here

Source Info:
IHO Repository
My Phone mod
My Settings mods
My MMS fix
MMS fix has been merged into main repository

Build Info:
This build of CM7 has all of the fixes/workarounds/hacks from the previous build, but adds a few extra goodies. First, the USB Tethering preference has been removed, as it currently does not work on the Optimus S. Second, the Privacy->Factory reset menu item has also been removed as using it will cause a soft-brick. It is also using the very latest version of the XioniaRedux kernel, so you do not need to update that after installing this build.

Feast your eyes upon this awesomeness:
Look in Settings->About phone->Android version. Yes, you are seeing that. No, that's not fake

Installation Instructions:
1) Download ROM and Google Apps from links above. DO NOT EXTRACT, DO NOT RENAME!
2) Optional: Download latest XioniaRedux kernel. DO NOT EXTRACT, DO NOT RENAME!
3) Place ROM and Google Apps (and kernel if you downloaded it) on your sdcard.
4) Perform a FULL data/cache wipe from recovery mode.
(MUST HAVE CUSTOM RECOVERY)
5) Wipe (or format) /boot and /system from the "mounts and storage" menu in recovery mode.
6) Flash ROM using the "install zip from sdcard" option in recovery mode.7) Flash Gapps in the same fashion.
8) Optional: Flash kernel in the same fashion.
9) Reboot
10) Profit!

I am unable to turn on usb storage. I've seen this identified as a problem with CM7, but don't know how to go about trying to fix it.

Re: Drew's CyanogenMod Hacking thread (current build: 07/27/2011)

I may have one small problem, maybe its fixable through the settings but I cannot find the solution.

When I drive and have to pick up the phone I usually use my cars' aux cord and plug it in the phones headset jack which makes it sort of hands free. I dont know if I am the only one who does it but its pretty awesome.

Here is my situation, on ath3nos cm7 this worked fine, on this new cm7 it doesn't seem to work properly. I can hear the other person but when I speak the other person cannot hear me. Am I missing something? It did work ath3nos cm7, so I assumed it would work on this one.

Can anyone confirm that it does/does not work on their phone?

Re: Drew's CyanogenMod Hacking thread (current build: 07/27/2011)

myself and another member are receiving force closes in the settings menu while trying to adjust the volume in july 27 - 002 - build. these did not happen using the previous build - 001. usb storage is working for me. any suggestions? should i use the settings.apk from - 001 ?

Don't turn it on. Download the files to your phone, use file manager to move to root of sd card. Boot into recovery etc. My USB storage works on this rom and Scott Pilgrim. Don't know about Ath3nos rom

BTW got that status bar power widget issue fixed. It seem restoring from titanium wasn't enough. I had to remove widget, uncheck everything, close out, recheck my widget choices and add power widget again LOL. But it now has my choices

Wipe everything. Flash the 001 build then flash the 002 over it without flashing...

EDIT: without wiping...
