Fascinate MR2 (DL09) Waiting Lounge: Annnouncement Now on Verizon's Website

Briefly considered flashing back to DI01 in odin to get the joy of waiting to receive an update but I'm content on Super Dark DJ05. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I don't mean to sound ungrateful but the fact this isn't Froyo is a complete disgrace.

Agreed. I don't TRULY care about the Froyo thing anymore, but this just adds fuel to the fire. Congratulations Verizon, it took you 4 months to pop out an overglorified GPS fix that may or may not work.

Couldn't agree more with you. This is my second phone from Verizon and so far im 0-2 on updates. At least with the BB Tour they just flat out told us that it wasn't getting the next update for a long time!

Maybe the update got stuck at one of those stop lights amongst all the confusion in renaming this thread. lol

It's nice of them to "release" an update and not actually release it.

Having both the Verizon Incredible and the Fascinate I have to say the Fascinate is a great phone. But after today and the BS update I'm done with Samsung. I've had Froyo on the Dinc for months...screw Samsung! What a joke they are. What really pisses me off is they have released a ton on new phones in the last couple of days at CES so I guess we have antiques. The upgrade department for the Fascinate is with an intern in a back room somewhere off campus. Did I say screw em...Rally cry "NO MORE SAMSUNG"

It's not Samsung it's VZW. Pretty much every other Galaxy S phone the world over has Froyo except American carriers.

lol, you've got it bad dude. But yeah, this is really, really disappointing. I also think we should all send bad juju to Jerry for getting our hopes up;).

I bet him when he posted that article that it wasn't going to be Froyo. He owes me a case of vodka.

Does anyone know, if we get this update, will we be able to re-root the phone using the same procedures as before? Same 1 touch root?

Looks like I am going to be jumping into the world of ROMS. Not that I was afraid, I just didn't want to get into the cycle of having to completely clear out my phone every other week to play with them.

So I assume if I'm already using DL09, there's very little point in reverting to DI01 just to get the update? Meaning, it doesn't offer anything new beyond the leaked DL09?

And now that it's official, what are the chances we can get a flashable stock DL09 kernel? On DI01, the stock kernel and a stock clean rom was such a good combination.
