Galaxy Note 3 - Problem with Email. Help!

I have Note 2 but it may help for Note 3 also. I did go to my gmail - settings - mark"sync gmail". It will warn you that this will sync automaticly all of your emails and problem is solved (at least for me)

I've had this problem from day one and now it's really starting to bug me. I have to manually refresh my inboxes (two Hotmail accounts, one Gmail account) to get new emails to show which also means no notifications like I should be getting when one comes in. I never had this problem with my Note 2 so I don't know what settings need to be enabled to get emails on my phone automatically. Help me out here?

I had this problem after device update

You should slide double fingers on ur screen from top to buttun, there is a "sync" button beside flight mode

Enable it and ...voila

This solved the email sync problem on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Talked to Verizon for almost an hour and we could not find the "Master Sync" setting in the settings menu. It kept saying "Master Sync is turned off" when we selected the green sync arrow. Coach Tuff because of your suggestion, we pulled down the menu at the top of the screen and strangely it doesn't show all the options (icons) when you scroll to the right. After pulling down the menu at the top, you next have to select the icon that looks like 3 windows and 2 arrows in the upper right of the screen. This then displays all the pull down icons. One of these icons says "Sync" and was grayed out on my Note 3. I highlighted the "Sync" icon and the "Master Sync" was now turned ON and the email began to automatically sync again. Hooray for success. Thank you.

I had this problem with my hotmail account on my previous phone. Could not figure out what happened. Went into a Verizon store had three employees try to figure out the issue with hotmail with no success.
They deleted the hotmail app, gave me outlook and issue resolved.
Switched to the Note 3 in January and continue issue free.

I think I have the answer... you can enable master sync by going into pull down notifications and going to far right icon looks like a window and highlight sync icon so it's green... that should work and I think it has on my phone.

Edit: That seems have done the trick... hope the info above helps out.

@CoachTaff

I got this from another Blog I can not take ownership for this BUT IT WORKED!!!!

Pull down the menu at the top of the screen and strangely it doesn't show all the options (icons) when you scroll to the right. But at the very top of the menu, select the icon that looks like 3 windows and 2 arrows in the upper right of the screen (its black and white). This then displays ALL of the pull down icons. One of these icons says "Sync" and was grayed out on my Note 3. I highlighted the "Sync" icon and the "Master Sync" was now turned ON and the email began to automatically sync again.
Thumbs up: 16

I have the same problems but only with my gmail account. my hotmail syncs fine. unlimited size set for email sync. master sync is turned on, everything is set but gmail won't update only hotmail. never had any of these issues with HTC,will not be purchasing another samsung phone ever!

This fixed the problem I was having with my email accounts syncing..." you can enable master sync by going into pull down notifications and going to far right icon looks like a window and highlight sync icon so it's green"...this instantly fixed the problem with all of my email accounts.

I have seen this glitch before on the Galaxy note 3, how I resolved it was to remove the gmail account.
Try it and see how you go.

I had this. I pulled down top of screen and pushed the icon that looks like a window (next to settings cog icon) and highlighted sync.

OMG, I have battled this problem off and on for at least a couple of months! Same as others, I removed and recreated the account, tried manual sync, and everything I could think of. I spent my lunch hour on Tuesday at the Verizon store in San Francisco, and they had never heard of "master sync" and had no idea how to fix this. I searched many times for "master sync" on Google, and I never found help until today. I didn't even know about the 2nd pull-down menu. PS, this issue does actually exist on Samsung Galaxy Note 2, because that's what I have. I don't know how "Master Sync" got set not to sync, but it is fixed now...finally! (regarding the pull-down menu from home screen, click window-ish icon in upper right, settings submenu) Thanks very much. :-*

Wow....I have been working with this every single day and BAM....you just made my life easier.
Great work !!
Thank you ;)

I was having the same problem. The SYNC button on the pull down menu at the top was grayed out. Clip it on and the email app will sync your emails. It will not read "Master sync is turned off." anymore.
