GB .595 is out in the wild

Hey all, its been a long time since you have seen a leak. LOL. From what I have been told Verizon has approved a Gingerbread build for release. You should all be as exicted as I am. I know we have been on gingerbread for a long time but nothing beats going official.

The upgrade path does not include those who are on Gingerbread .573/.588/.591 - Make Sure You Read Below.

The build that has been approved for release by Verizon is Blur (4.5.596) this is not build 4..5.596 but is the build tha is needed so you can upgrade via ota without needing to sbf back to 2.3.340.

If I read everything correctly from .588 (Rooted) the steps would be:

1) Update to .591 via Clockwork Recovery
2) Update to .595 via Clockwork Recovery

Is that it?

Just rooted a couple of days ago. Haven't done anything with my phone yet, but installing .595 is going to be my first bit of tinkering. Wish me luck!

EDIT: Just to be certain, clicking Bootstrap Recovery in Droid X Bootstrap and then using "Install ROM from SD Card" in ROM Manager is all I need to do?

Yup, worked like a charm, no wiping or resetting needed. FLASHED right over. 591 so now Im ready for the Official OTA coming in a few days. Wonder how the devs feel about the constant updates.
Edit: Fabs tweet "There will be NO Apex built on this "intermediary" .595 leak build! I'll wait until the official build is out this time! "

Update: Apparently the binary is wrong for the stock 595 and P3Droid is redoing it.

I did not have any themes currently installed on my phone. Just the CRT animation and changed the LCD density when I went from Deodexed/Rooted .591 to Deodexed/Rooted .595. No wipes, just installed the zip from D2 CW recovery. The boot up took a few minutes but everything was as I last left it. Hope this helps.

Question, were you rooted on .591 before installing stock .595? Also did you have any themes installed? I would suggest going back to stock .591 before trying .595 and you might have received a bad or incomplete download.

Im on froyo and im just gonna wait for the update. I find it weird that people are putting gb on there phone and then waiting for the gb update.

Apparently there is something wrong with the stock 595 and P3Droid is fixing it. I guess there the issue does not exist in the deodexed/rooted verison.

The stock .595 file has been updated... I flashed it and rooted via Ginerbreak 1.2. All is well now!

Update: actually... I think im partially rooted. It's weird. Root Explorer sort of works, SetCPU and Ad Free appear to be fully working, but everything else (Titanium BU and ShootMe for examples) does not have root access.

I'm still wondering if since I'm on the non rooted signed .588 if i'll be able to get the OTA? It was flashable with stock recovery so that means it had to be signed, correct? I purposely stayed on this release so I would be able to just get the OTA.

You have to redownload busybox for titanium to work.
