Guess I'm going to leave AT&T if we don't get 5.1.1 by the end of the month.

I had a chat with an AT&T representative yesterday, and was told that the 5.1.1 update is slated to be pushed out by the end of the month.

Here's to hoping they weren't just looking to end our chat session.
Is the month "this" month? Or "the" month?

I think the just have a cheat sheet for standard question like this. It's always end of the month.

I was told the end of "this month".

I was also told that Samsung Pay would be arriving in the summer of 2016, and that the phone is MST capable.

To verify, I also opened a chat on the Samsung website. They were much less forthcoming with their information - but told me that the phone does NOT have MST capabilities.

Well at least we can download samsung pay now. Last month it said S6A was not compatible. Now it is downloaded but says it need a software update. Must be 5.1.1 no update is avaliable.

The AT&T S5 Active started getting 5.1.1 today. Hopefully we will see it soon.

This is encouraging. I'm guessing the special coding for the active button is the reason that model is receiving the update first.

Where are we able to download Samsung Pay from? I'm not seeing it in the Play Store or Galaxy Apps.

Go to samsung website. It offers it there then linked to play store. Just remember I can not use it. As soon as the app starts, it tells you it needs an update.

I did that. I get a message that says my device is not compatible with my device

Same here.

On the upside, I called the Samsung Pay hotline today, and was told that Samsung will be releasing Pay capabilities for the S6 Active in the future. The agent did confirm to me that the phone contains MST.

Honestly not sure what to believe anymore...

I given up on getting status update on Samsung Pay or updates for the Active. It seem like every person just keep getting conflicting information, probably so they rep can get off the phone. I'll just take it a day at a time and just pray that we will get the update soon...

I called the day before yesterday and kept asking to speak with a manager - as they were telling me they could not share any information, even though someone the night before told me it will be compatible.

At long last, I spoke with someone in higher management who assured me that the phone does indeed have MST, and that it will be used by the Samsung Pay app when it is enabled through a future update.

1. I have the S6 Active and agree that this lack of updates is very frustrating. I even can put up with the slight lag that I have seen on the phone --amazing given the cpu and 3gb of ram! Also, I have and have used package disabler as well –frankly, I can manually disable most of the packages myself, so it was not so great, still I did get it and use it! Not the same as rooting. Less flexible.

2. In my case, there is another factor. I also had a voice problem with my Galaxy S6 Active: I would call ground phones and they could not hear me –or would state that my voice sounded like I was under water. Replaced the phone and am checking to see if the problem repeats.

3. However, I am still quite upset that the S5 Active has 5.1.1 and we S6 Acitve owners still do not! It puzzles me –what is AT&T thinking?

4. While I also noted that press has stated that Active S6 is on the list to get 6.0/Marshmallow, I would not count on that happening before mid-first quarter 2016. It does not help that AT&T makes no mention of this –or provides zero milestones for Galaxy S6 Active owners! ;-(

5. Frustrated! Between the lack of updates, the locked bootloader (ok, I do like rooting!), and the voice call problems I’ve experienced, I am one problem away from dumping AT&T and switching to Project Fi. Not something I do lightly since I have had AT&T for at least 11 years.

6. I’ve already secured my Project Fi invite (takes about a week); and if I have any more voice call issues, I will spring for a Nexus 5X, sell my S6 on ebay, and cancel AT&T.

7. As much as I liked their service, it’s getting problematic. No phone updates for the S6 Active plus strange voice call issues, -- I did not buy the S6 active to have difficulties in calls! Kind of odd since I had zero issues on my S2 and then on my S4!

Shame because the S6 active is good hardware, probably the best in the business but the lack of updates is terrible.

Some phones are still kit Kat so I'm not complaining. I'm willing to wait patiently until the update rolls through.

Finally AT&T!! And Samsung Pay, smart move right there Samsung!! Hope we can take advantages on some free offers of Samsung Pay for our Active.

This also proved that the Active actually have much more people using it than we think. I thought we just in a niche market

How long it take to receive an OTA?

How long it take to receive an OTA?

It may be a few days or a week before we actually get it. I've been searching and haven't seen anyone who has received it yet. When I checked the software update, it states that I am up to date and I can check again in 8 hours.

You can force it to check for updates if you move your clock ahead by at least 24 hours. Just take it out of automatic time set and adjust the date. The update will also be pushed, but I'm impatient to check :)
