I had to do a factory reset on my phone for a separate reason. Now the media link wont work anymore. (I had the update that HTC released a couple weeks ago.) I thought I would just redownload the software update direct from Settings >> About >> Software updates, but it says there are no updates for my phone.

Does anyone have the updated APK? Maybe I can just sideload it? Or am I just stuck now? I emailed HTC support already about this. Will see what they say.

If you want to install look on xdadevelopers.com they have it

Thanks. I'm on ATT though. I'm looking for the small update that HTC made to the Media Link HD app for ATT. I didn't see anything mentioning media link there.

Wow, guys, don't factory reset your phones if you want to keep the OTA fix to the Media Link. I just got this email from HTC Support:

Dear Kenneth,

We understand wanting to make sure you can properly connect your phone to the Media Link HD and can provide some information to help answer your questions.

The update you received the Media Link connection was only an .apk to update the Media Link app on the phone (.apk being the Android installation file). Performing the factory data reset on the device would have removed that update from the device, which is the reason for your current concern.

Unfortunately, there is no means we have to reinstall that update to your phone. That update, however, should be included in a future maintenance release (MR) for the One though we do not have an estimated date for its release.

We apologize for the inconvenience but can only recommend that you keep watch on our website at HTC - Homepage or our Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/HTC for information as it becomes available.

Feel free to reply should you have any further questions, Kenneth. If you feel more comfortable discussing issues by phone, you can contact Technical Support at 1-866-449-8358, 8 am to 1 am ET, 7 days a week

FIRST POST! Due to unhelpful A-holes at another site....

Is the Media link the only way to put video from my One to my TV???
No cables, through my google tv, roku, etc?

I have the same issue. Factory reset my phone, now can't reinstall Media Link patch.

Looking to find out how you rooted your device.

I'm very disappointed. Just got home to my new media link and I can't connect to it. My phone is brand new, totally stock, and no update available. WTF.

Tried using foxfi to circumvent this as well to no avail.

Yeah, it sucks guys, sorry. I followed this method to unlock/root my device:
[Tutorial] Root, Unlock, Recovery and flashing a Custom ROM - xda-developers

And I installed CleanROM 2.5:
[ROM][5/25] - CleanROM 2.5 -★| Elegant! | Refined! | Powerful! | Clean! |★- - xda-developers

Media link works and I have a transparent blinkfeed / app drawer now! This is just what I did and I'm not telling anyone else to do it. You risk breaking your phone as well as voiding warranty when you do this stuff. Read all the instruction carefully if you plan to do it.

CleanROM is stock minus boat, correct? Same as the Samsung versions of Clean, I'm assuming?
