A2DP problem

hi there! this rom has great speed! my only issue is that whenever i connect my bluetooth headset to my phone i can't get any music from it, the player just seems to be playing the song really fast, the timer jumps in 3-4 second intervals and doesn't make any sound, i tried with different players and all of them behave exactly the same, seem to play very fast but produce no sound.

bluetooth audio works fine with fresh rom. :(

Download link does not work

I'll have a look. Is anyone else experiencing this?

If you could -
What type of headset?
Do calling functions work fine with the headset?
Does speakerphone work for you?
Does a wired headset work?

Btw, started getting MMS. Not sure what the deal was. I did get rid of Chomp and start using Handcent again, so maybe that was it.

my headset is a sony ericsson HBH-IS800.
speakerphone and wired headset work.

one hiccup though, when using a wired headset sometimes the phone doesn't detect it and sound comes through the phone and not the wired headset, rebooting normaly fixes this.

Apps2SD

Apps2SD is automagic in this build. Place an ext2 or ext3 partition on your SD card and the ROM will use the partition to store applications.

This can be done using a custom recovery image. I recommend Amon-RA's.

How exaclty do you do this I've been trying to get App2SD to work on my sprint hero for a few weeks now, Could you show me how to this?

Thanks for the support vco08!

@jaimemex
plug in to your pc and back up EVERYTHING on your sd card.
reboot the phone into recovery
use the menu options to format your sd card
use zero for swap size (no swap on any Hero ROMs yet)
use either 512mb or 1024mb for the ext partition (this will be where your apps are, size based on your needs)
the rest will format as fat32.
when it's done, enable mass storage from the recovery partition
copy everything you backed up over to the sd card again
wipe data
reflash your ROM
apps should now be loaded onto the sd card.

you can check this by using a terminal app on the phone and entering the following:
Code:
cd /data/app
pwd

cd /data/app means change to the /data/app directory
pwd means present working directory

if it returns /data/app/ it's not working. If it returns /sdcard/xxxxx (depends on a few things, /sdcard/ is the important bit) it's working.

Alright...
How do you use zero for swap size and set ext partition?
And Thank You for the help!

No problem man! This is the return I get... /system/sd/app Is mine setup right?

If you're in recovery and at the SD partition option you should be able to use the trackball to set the size then click the trackball to set the size. One thing I did after was all said and done was I converted the ext2 swap to ext3. Not sure if its necessary or not, but I did it anyways.

I noticed today that I was getting ads again. The previous version seems to have had an edited hosts file because ads would show up with an error 404.

One other thing I noticed, and this might not be a ROM issue; Sprint Navigation has trouble getting and holding a GPS fix, while Google Maps seems to have less of a problem. Has anyone else seen this?

i installed it and it looks awesome with somethigs diferent ofcourse :D ill post some screenshots later D:

Yep. With this ROM, and any ROM that's using Cyanogen's apps2sd script that's the correct location.

ext3 helps by checking the file system against a journal thats written as the data changes. Very good idea, and keeps the file system healthy but it's hard on the SD card.

Yes, I removed the hosts file. IMO it's easier to keep it up to date with Big Tin Can's adblocker app in the market. It's free, so that's what i recommend instead. You could pull the Hosts file from an older version and push it back in, or I could even write a small add on zip to flash it back if there's enough interest.

Not seen the issue with Sprint Nav. I used it without issue Friday on a trip to New Jersey.

Glad you like. Can't wait to see them.

just loaded this rom very nice i must say but i have to ask how can i get the yummy 2.1 icons i guess that's what they are

For now, you can use metamorph or bettercut, edit the launcher icons inside the individual apk files, or run a home replacment that has themes.

The next release of Gumbo will have a custom add on pack with it's own unique icon set.
