HTC one available for purchase in store today?

I just walked in to my local AT&T store to see the display, and asked if it was for sale and the guy said yes. After getting into my account the guy said sorry we don't have any in stock and we really couldn't sell any until the 16th.

I went back and play with it for a few minutes, and this was my impressions:

The screen was really nice, sense was clean and simple, but not that much different than sense four.
The phone was lighter and thinner than I thought. The build quality was good but I did notice the beveled edges where the aluminum and polymer meet were a little ruff and almost scratchy feeling. The phone did feel warm but it is constantly running and charging in the store.

The blinkfeed didn't bother me and I think the Tv remote app is pretty cool. The boomsound speakers were loud but not as good as I thought it would be after reading all of the reviews. Ringtones are loud though.

The camera isn't bad but not great. The quality was like most cameras in my opinion. I did notice the black bar in the facebook app and that was about it.

Like someone else mentioned here, the phone isn't as snappy when power saver is on. I own a one x, and I would say that this phone is similar however faster and more polished in my opinion.

Went to my local corp store and played with it. Nice phne but wasnt blown away. Have a pre order for a 64gb but asked if i could by one then and got a no till next friday

Is everyone having luck now buying them today?? What I don't understand is they have them on display with price and everything, yet they say not until next week??? Why put it on display then?

So people can preorder in store and build anticipation. That's like saying HTC shouldn't run any commercials until the device is available.

The camera isn't bad but not great. The quality was like most cameras in my opinion. I did notice the black bar in the facebook app and that was about it.

The camera does fine, up until you zoom on the picture. The quality drops immensely.

I grabbed the phone snapped a few shots and was looking at them "oh these don't even look half bad, not sure what everyone is worried about". Zoomed in on some guys face on the phone and the quality just went to ****.

Not quite the same. The phone is in store in display with current pricing exactly like the other phones are. Nothing states pre-order. Showing a commercial is a little different.

So I went to an ATT store today too see the One! First glance... holy crap! The chamfered edges are shiny and everything is SOOO smooth! Started playing with the phone and the screen wouldn't get too bright and things seemed slower then I thought, speakers weren't that loud either. Multitasking was slower then I imagined too but better then my evo 3d. took a quick trip to the settings menu and made sure volume was all the way up and then I stumbled upon power saver mode... gave that a switch off and MY GOD the phone was fast! There wasn't too much to see screen wise but I hopped on to yahoo and holy ish it was so beautiful! the phone is seriously a looker and once I realized power saver mode was on at first I fell in love.. Blinkfeed was pretty cool, even tapped into the tv at the store and turned it off Speakers were loud as crap but I still have some testing wit beats audio. seemed to project more with it off but also sounded more realistic with it on! took some zoes and photos and I am VERY impressed with this phone! One more Week till i can pick it up on sprint!

Hm. Was in my small town ATT franchise store on Wednesday afternoon and they said they didn't even have a display model yet, but would by the 19th. Would really, really like to play with this phone.

Saw it in LA area - but no stock and said cant sell until 19th.... One question - it only hade three pages and I could not find a setting to change to standard 5 pages for Andriod. With blinkfeed taking one page this is a concern.... Anyone that has one figure out if 5 pages are possible?

You go to an empty home screen and long press and you get to your widgets menu and there should be an option at the top to ad another page, up to 5

Yeah but didnt you pre order at Best Buy like me if im not mistaken? They better have stock on the 19th i wont be too happy if they dont! BUT i was the first pre order at that store so i would definitely assume they have stock on it especially for me

Again so get customers interest that come into the store. It makes sense to have display models before release. That's smart to do so people can try it out rather than "I didn't know that phone was out" a week after release. This also could prevent people who were coming in to upgrade to another phone to wait for the one. We can't let our impatience make us think everything is stupid lol. I don't necessarily think the problem is having it on display, its the presentation by att. They should have a coming soon or availability date near it. My best buy has it on display but they also have 4/19 as the date to get it.

Just left sprint and an at&t store. Nada, in louisiana. They had the posters up. But said they wont have any display models until the 19th.

Same case here with my Sprint store.. but the ATT stores have a few models on display by me it was a great feeling to get my hands on this phone. Pictures online dont do it justice!

yes,I had both AT&T preorder and also best buy..AT&T should ship out the one on 16 and I might get it on 19 but if on 19 best buy call me to pick-up the phone I will be very happy to go get the phone in the morning and return AT&T preorder to the store..

Well i have been keeping in contact with best buy to make sure of some things. You will need to be an authorized user on the acct and they said they will EMAIL you the day the phone comes available.. which i dont like id rather take a phone call or even an email a day BEFORE would be great so i could plan ahead of time. I should have just pre ordered at sprint because i can pick up the phone on my lunch break at work, but i wanted to go the best buy route with insurance..

And with sprint they said i could go in and just give them the acct password and Best Buy said either the acct holder had to be there or an authorized user..

Lol. I can't lie. I'm very impatient. It's like they are teasing us. And you're right, there should be something to let you know it's not available for purchase just yet.

We're all impatient! I didnt see anything saying it wasnt for purchase yet when i was there but the first thing the lady said was "we have it on display but we wont be selling til next friday"
