I would love to hear from current G3 owners about any overheating problems they have experienced so far. I saw a few people mentioning having to turn down screen brightness and getting warnings about the phone getting too hot to function properly (or slowing down).
Any experiences you've had (with overheating or lack of) would be helpful. Thanks!
Why would any of you put up with that?
Blinded by love? LOL
Lately, my G3 is at 35+ celsius and all I'm doing is using Chrome & Textra? Than again sometimes I'm constantly switching between 5 apps and nothing. Who knows.
I went on vacation to Thailand this past 3 weeks and while filming video with the flash on, the phone would overheat and shutdown, ruining many precious moments. I would have to take everything apart, let it cool down and try to start over again. Many times I had to shut the flash at night. This is unacceptable, never any of my other phones did that, and of course nor do cameras. I have only had the phone for 4 months so it still under warranty from LG I believe.
It is defective. You should try to get it exchanged.I've had mine almost two weeks and I can't do anything for very long without it overheating. Its really disappointing because I love this phone.

I've had my G3 for over 7 months and have never gotten a message about overheating. And I play some serious games (Shadowrun anyone?) for long periods of time without issues. The phone heats up, like all smart phones do, but never to the point of giving a warning.

Might send it back before my warranty is up not sure, I hate having to start over and reinstall everything because I have a lot of apps.
To make life easier, you can get TWRP and make a full image backup of your phone and put it on your SD card. Then, after getting new phone, root and install TWRP and restore it.
