LG G3 Overheating warning?

re: Does the LG G3 Overheat?

I think the gps test will beat any phone lol

I recorded a 4 min video and stopped before I started the next recording and after 13 seconds of the second recording I received an over heating warning and the recording stopped. That was pretty discouraging.

Were you recording at 4k?

Re: Does the LG G3 Overheat?

I would really appreciate a gps test. I use my phone for gps often and would be curious to see how the G3 performs and handles it.

I used the GPS last Friday on the way home from purchasing the phone. It was about a 50 minute commute - no overheating warnings and the phone didn't feel hot at all when I arrived home.

That's great to hear! Thank you!

I was recording at the highest resolution at the time. I might also add that the phone was in a location where I didn't have a great signal so that could have contributed to the phone being fairly hot. I love the phone overall and haven't recorded or experienced the error since.

Re: Does the LG G3 Overheat?

This is great news!!
No, it isn't. I was saying that I got the overheating warning yesterday. I didn't try the GPS or anything else. It just locked up on me (like trying to touch a picture and nothing happening) so I removed the battery and then reinserted it and turned it back on and it was 100*F. Wouldn't let me turn up the brightness.

Oh no! I misunderstood. You have T-Mobile version too right? Not European?

Re: Does the LG G3 Overheat?

Yes T-Mobile variant.

Sent from my T-Mobile Carrier locked LG G3 without root or anything like that. :)
btw, I'm a girl.

Sounds like you need to either return the device or exchange for another one and hope the issue disappears. This is a pretty major issue to be having.

I'm giving it a few more days. I still have 7 more days until my return is up.

Even so... Seems to be an issue for a lot of G3s. especially if you are a moderately heavy user like me.

Yes, and for this reason I will not purchase or waste my upgrade on this device. This is a very serious problem. I have seen a lot of complaints on XDA about this very same issue since reading them here. Plus, seeing it on an actual review scares the crap out of me. I understand trying to be the first out of the gate with the 2K display but not for these shortcomings--NO WAY. After seeing the display in person--finally---I can say that its off axis viewing is terrible and the screen does have a washed out look to it. I compared the display to the One M8, GS5 and the iPhone 5S and it was more washed out than all 3 of those phones.
