LG G4 Battery Life Thread

Re: T-Mobile My Account App - Battery Drain!

There's a bug with the app because it turns on GPS and won't turn it off, thus draining the battery. Since we can't disable it, Tmo needs to release an update to tweak this. Thus just started happening to me since I received the 10h update.

Happens to me on 10d

Re: Turn off battery charge sound?

I wound up turning off the notification sounds entirely.

I use Macrodroid. I have it set to turn off all sounds when the phone is connected to a charger, and turn all sounds back on when I disconnect.

Macrodroid looks interesting; I've used Tasker for many things like that, but it can be a bit daunting.

One change I would make to your recipe: I'd only have it do that when I'm at home...when I'm at work and take it off the charger, I wouldn't want it to turn my sounds back on (they're turned off at work.)

Re: Turn off battery charge sound?

On the H815 I've never heard a sound or anything when it's charging. I'm a pretty light sleeper too.

Re: T-Mobile My Account App - Battery Drain!

Any update to this?

This app is destroying my battery and I cant stop it.

Re: T-Mobile My Account App - Battery Drain!

I always uninstall that app. It's horrible. I'm guessing I can uninstall it because I have a Nexus 6? Anyway that app is awful and buggy.

Yes, you can't uninstall it on the G4 (at least on my T-Mobile version). You can't even disable it. You can only force stop it and it comes back on by itself.

That really sounds horrible. I always disabled that app. I like T-Mobile service but their account app is really bad imo.

Re: T-Mobile My Account App - Battery Drain!

It must be manufacturer preference.

On my T-Mo Samsung S6 Edge I am able to disable it no problem.

On my T-mo LG G4 it WONT let me disable.

Re: T-Mobile My Account App - Battery Drain!

If you turn off all notifications from the app, it drastically reduces its toll on the battery.

Re: T-Mobile My Account App - Battery Drain!

+1 to notifications off. If you turn off notifications, monitoring, device health - all that stuff - you can keep the app for the things it's useful for and power drain is negligible.

Android since v1.0. Linux user since 2001.

Re: Turn off battery charge sound?

I stand corrected, I heard it last night.

I'm plugged in at work, so it still suits me.

Re: LG G4 battery life isn't as great as those reviewers said

I went to app manager and disabled DT Ignite, i think it is for ads. Rebooted and my battery life improved drastically.

Not only that but it has the ability to install apps on your phone. That is the first thing I disable after reading that.

Dt ignite. I've seen this. What is it? I'll disable it if it's not needed!

So I have the phone since it was released on T-Mobile 5/28/15 ever since my phone gets very hot (over 105F) and the battery drains like crazy as well I get loads of lag.

I first thought I should give it a few days or a week till everything settles and it will straighten out and it will run normal temperature and my battery won't last only 2 hours of SOT (worse then my old G3)

Guess what? I was mistaken!!!
My phone runs very hot on a daily basis even when I am not touching the phone (stand by) it gets hot and my battery drains like crazy.

One thing I noticed that when I charge my phone once it's done my phone is piping hot and it won't cool off fast either even when I on plug it
This is annoying and crazy since I really love LG's products, I had the LG G2, G3 and now the G4 and I hope there is a fix for this cuz I am starting to have second thoughts about LG already which I hate! Please help me out here and save me from not switching to other OEM!!!

P.s. as seen on the screenshots below when I started writing this post my battery was at 74% now when I am all done its.... Yep 64%!!!

As you could see there is nothing special that would trigger the battery drain or overheating!

Re: LG G4 battery life isn't as great as those reviewers said

Yeah, I've been really struggling with the battery life of my G4. Makes me consider returning it and waiting for the new Nexus 5 in October/November.

According to GSam Battery Monitor, I'm averaging 2(!) hours of screen on time, 10 hours 25 minutes of battery life.

FYI, I'm on Sprint, have my screen set to time-out after a minute, and have screen brightness set to auto 30% brightness.

Re: LG G4 battery life isn't as great as those reviewers said

What's GSam showing using the battery ?
Obviously something is.
