LG G4 Battery Life Thread

Re: Lg g4 battery life & performance... Is it still worth my money ?

I've been using Motorola phones since 1995 with the MicroTAC Elite, StarTAC, StarTAC CDMA, v60ic, RAZR, Droid 1, Droid RAZR HD Maxx and basically Motorola was always the best when it came to RF Performance as they had been making radios forever, their camera had always sucked compared to the competition. The Droid RAZR HD I got on November 1, 2012. And basically the battery got swollen on November 1, 2013 so I called Verizon Wireless to get a replacement under my Total Protection Plan. Every 5 months after that, the battery would get swollen again and each time they send a replacement, it will always take 6-7 replacements before I get one that is good as there is always something wrong with the screen or with the battery life with nothing running even in safe mode so finally I got the G4 because it has the MicroSD slot AND the replaceable battery as Motorola basically went away from the MicroSD card with the Droid Maxx and Droid Ultra and later the Droid Turbo. The Droid Turbo2 made by Lenovo owned Motorola seems to have brought the MicroSD slot back and also a higher than G4 Megapixel camera but how the camera performs is another issue even though it is a Sony this time around. Every phone that reaches my hands will be slow by the time I get all my apps loaded on it which is 739 apps, greenify will fix the problem as basically play store would not be able to download and install as it ran out of resources even when the things aren't running. For whatever reason, the Motorola Xoom tablet with the same apps doesn't have the problems even though it has less ram.

Wonder if you still love moto after bought by Lenovo

Speaking of comparing radios, the G4 seems to be every bit as good as the reception I got with my Moto Droid Bionic. So there's that going for it too.

739 apps?! How much space do all of the apps take up?

Re: Which extended battery is best?

Zerolemon, had one on my G3 and now on my G4...

What kind of battery life are you getting with the Zerolemon battery? I'm using the Mugen 6200 mah battery and I'm getting 11-12 SOT. Love the battery life and don't even mind the extra weight. But the back door is extremely plasticky. It's a decent fit, but doesn't quite feel as tightly connected to the phone as the original back door.

I posted my results in this thread and I believe there are some others in there as well.

Re: Which extended battery is best?

Get another original battery to swap out. If you dont like that get a powerbank.

Re: Lg g4 battery life & performance... Is it still worth my money ?

Well I have no complaints with my battery life and SOT. These are my averages

Reasons to not use an extended battery:

1. The phone is beautiful with a leather back. With a brick of a battery, no longer can the leather back be used.
2. I don't want the phone to weigh a lot more than it does now.
3. All though, it may help with the ladies, I don't want to have a bulge in my pocket, I'm married lol

Fair enough. An extended battery isn't for everyone, but for those of us that like a phone that doesn't need to be charged and won't die no matter what you throw at it, it's perfect.

True but that's why having a swappable battery takes about 15 seconds to change with booting back up. To each their own. No hard feelings lol

Wait, I was talking about a stock extra battery. Not a huge extended one.

Why is this phone so cheap all of the sudden? Seems like a good phone but I've seen new ones for like $280 on Swappa.

Because it's not Samsung or Apple, have an AMOLED screen or finger print reader? I was able to get a new one for better than free a while back. My real guess is because the V10 is out, with a few more features.

It's not Samsung or Apple so the demand isn't there unfortunately. Having a more premium LG phone on the market isn't helping things either.

I know. I was just saying that I use an extended battery. But I don't use a Zerolemon. Those things are bricks. I use a Mugen battery. Granted mine adds thickness and weight, but not nearly as much as a Zerolemon.
