Yeah I got this today without trying. I use lux for brightness and I don't like a dim screen. Going to try out my nexus 6 tomorrow and see how it fairs with similar use.

Spin it however you want but the g4 has very marginal sot time compared to other phones.

Hey I have a g4 and love it but if you really think the g4 gets great battery life then......you haven't had a lot of Android exposure

Compared to my note2, yes it does get great battery life. What phone are you comparing it to?

Well, I don't hold the record for Android exposure but I have had an Android phone since the HTC Evo was launched in May 2010. So I'm quite a few phones and 5 years into Android which isn't exactly nothing.

The G4 has great battery life for me.

You still haven't provided any examples of which phones are so much better.

Seriously? OK. The op1, op2, 6+, m9, z3, g3 lol...g2. I'm not saying that it's bad but it is just a common fact that the g4 is just so so in the battery department. Like I said, I have one and there are a few here that will defend the g4 battery to the end but yeah....its not that good. By the way I get over 4 hr sot on mine. For a phone this size 4 hrs is just so so.

Yep, seriously. Lets see, if I remember specs correctly, the G3 is the only phone in your list with a QHD screen and since my G3 is still in use in my house I know that they are both quite similar in terms of battery life.

Still no comparisons to phones that actually match up spec wise?

For the specs that the G4 has, it has great battery life.

I don't see how 4 SOT is so-so. That's a lot screen time in my opinion. Not to say that more isn't better, but 4 is very reasonable in my eyes. I'm lucky to be close to power at my job all day; battery life isn't a big deal for me, and I haven't even bothered to conduct any battery stat testing myself for that reason.

As has been said many times, SOT is largely a result of what you're doing with your phone. Gaming obviously sucks more juice than most tasks a phone may be asked to perform, and I'd say 4.5 hrs that include an hour of gaming is very good indeed.

All I know is that I'm wearing Zerolemon's support staff out with tweets and emails for an extended battery. I don't care about the bulk just want it to last all day

I routinely go 4 hours SOT with and hour+ phone, plenty of texts and email, up at 5am in bed at 10pm, go to bed with 30% minimum at those levels. You gotta shut down some of that garbage in the background. Anybody can get great battery life, just have to do some homework, some of which is in sswitzer's thread. Get rid of Chrome too.

Don't normally use my phone as much as I did today but it held up really well. Almost got to 6 hours SOT.

My battery life is pretty terrible. But I am a POWER user. It's not even funny. If I leave the phone unplugged over night it'll drop maybe three or four percent. That's about eight hours on average. I always carry a fully charged battery cause I'll kill two batteries in a day. I'm on the Sprint variant, and I'm nearly certain it's their Sprint zone app.

My case is sexy, and it looks great on my G4. No bulk, excellent protection, and the case actually accentuates the unique design language of the G4. With the right case the curvature is more pronounced, as is the power button/volume/camera set up.

4.5 hours is pretty good to me.

I got that after an entire day browsing the web on my G4 over Wi-Fi and LTE.

There was that one time my G4 lasted nearly 2 whole days. It had over 90% on the first day on pretty light use that I didn't charge it overnight and used it the next day until it dropped to 10% due to heavier usage.

4 hours of SOT time is good IMO.

Let me expand on this a little bit, I'm getting 1-2 hours SOT, so 4 would be freaking outstanding for me. I have my brightness turned up, so that's probably my problem. I'm also playing a few games, so I'm taxing the device more than just reading emails, etc.

I'm finding as I get older I need the brighter screen in order to see everything. If I could function with the screen set lower, I'm sure I'd see more SOT, but as it is, I doubt I could improve it any.
