Nexus S is the same or worse than Nexus One...

according to the leak of the Samsung Elite firmware, Samsung is still using the RFS file system with Android 2.3. My enthusiasm for the Nexus S just went down...waaaay down.

If we're talking about a successor to the Nexus, I recall that Google had it's hand in HTC's entire hardware and software design process. It was more like they hired HTC as a contractor than allowing them to be an equal partner. As such, I have to think Google would be equally involved in the design and implementation of the hardware and software with the Nexus S, right?

let's hope that is the case...

I hope Google didn't get lazy and told Samsung to just design it themselves...

we can all dream :p

Someone mentioned earlier that sAMOLED is a battery sucker, and I'd like to challenge that notion. I've seen Samsung claim numerous times that sAMOLED is actually cheaper to manufacture and uses less battery power. Granted this is Samsung, the maker of sAMOLED making these claims, but I'd like to see some solid proof that it actually uses more juice than other OLED designs.

What sucks the battery up is how much the brightness is cranked, more than anything else, at least as far as I'm concerned. Now, as far as everything else is concerned, if you're worried about bloatware, you might want to look back at the Nexus One. This is going to be a purely Google Experience device, nothing more nothing less. Assuming the rumors are true that this is the Nexus S that is.

I truly don't understand everyone's bashing of Samsung. Particularly for the GPS issue. On all accounts, this maintenance update coming to the Fascinate has basically addressed this issue. It clearly is something software related and not a hardware issue. If that is the case, I surely hope (and bet) that this will be a non-issue with future Samsung devices going forward, including the Nexus S.

Samsung phones have problems with GPS

the processor isn't faster

theres no keyboard

both OLED screens (u can argue for SUPER Oled if you want)

no revolutionary features

Nexus S = marketing hype

OLED is a flexible screen that is made my Samsung and can survive a hammer strike. If Nexus S has that, that would be awesome.

Did you mean Super AMOLED screen?
