Photos Taken With Your Galaxy S3 Camera!

Here's a shot I took with the stock camera app in panoramic mode at the 9\11 Memorial in NYC yesterday.

Re: Photos Taken With Your Galaxy S III Camera!

Went to an Eric Church concert over the weekend. This picture was taken with the defaults and zoomed all the way in.

One-Handed Shooting - is there an easier way?

I find I can't easily reach the shutter button when I'm shooting one-handed - is there another way to trigger the shutter release?

A Silent Way to Take Pictures - Vignette App

Earlier today I posted a question about whether I could trip the shutter anywhere else on the camera and couldn't find anything on the web about it - or in the manual.

This evening I decided to try an app I used with my Droid 2, which I liked a lot because I didn't have to listen to the annoying shutter click and I could also be more stealthy in my shooting.

With Vignette, you can tap anywhere on the screen and the picture gets taken...without any sound, if you desire.

Lots of nice features. Check it out.

You can turn on the voice command settings and I believe the word is "cheese", and it'll take a photo

That is just so cool! (Just tried it - wanted to know if you were pulling my leg!) Thanks!

Your best friend - Exposure Value

Just as I've experienced with every digital camera I've owned, it is necessary to use a minus exposure value outside on a bright sunny day - or you will get burnt out (pure white lacking detail) areas on your image.

Just tap the gear menu at the bottom left and then Exposure Value and slide down one or two notches - watch the picture get better looking!

You should do this for any picture where there is a very bright area in the image that is important - however, if you're going to crop it off - don't bother.

Probably the combination of a slightly dirty lens and the extreme contrast in the scene. There was very strong direct sunlight reflecting off of the aluminum trim.

Yikes! My pictures are going into my Dropbox!

How did I manage to choose that option?

How do I turn that off?

I don't want Backup Assistant to collect them either.

How do you set your phone?

Re: Photos Taken With Your Galaxy S III Camera!

Last night just before dark there was a weird lighting effect going on. When I got out of the tree cover and looked up I knew why. The undersides of the clouds were pink and gray, but the tops were golden yellow where the setting sun touched them. There was thundering and lightning in the distance. Cropped and tweaked in Lightroom 4.

Wow the upload compression algorithm is terrible. Forget the thumbnail below. Here's a link to a better picture.

Click on the zoom magnifying glass for an even better look.

Okay I give how do you do this! I turned on voice command but it does not respond when I say cheese! :(
