[ROM] [04.19.11] BAMF Remix 1.5 - New base RUU plus more! *UPDATE*

That worked. Nice work boiiiii ;)

EDIT: I uh, unfortunately didn't read what you put at first and instead cleared my data. LOL. Thank goodness for restore instead of taking the time to go through and piece it all out.

To use the sexy launcher if my memory serves right-

Go to the manage applications drawer / all apps / HTC sense / clear defaults

Then go to your homescreen and either long press the "home" soft key or press home a few times. It'll now let you select your prefered launcher.

Ugh... looks gross. At least intial setup anyway. Don't like the 3D scroll app drawer and I couldn't figure out how to get the damn clock/weather widget on the homescreen. And my big calendar. Guessing if you go that route you gotta DL some widgets, eh?

Ya it takes all the sense widgets away so I left it too, no matter how sexy it was.

Thanks for the help! That was frustrating not knowing how to get it set up. I messed around with it and it isn't that bad without sense. However, I like sense so we'll see how long I keep this setup. 3D app drawer is kind of cool and its a nice change of pace, I suppose I'll like it until I get an itch to do something different or BAMF is updated to 1.6 lol.

Again, thanks for the help, it's greatly appreciated.

Ok, this is a total newbie question regarding ROM's. I rooted my TB last night, re-installed my apps, and configured most of my settings to how they were prior to rooting.

Now, I'd like to install this ROM and was wondering when a new ROM is installed, must I re-install all my apps again? Or, are the apps in a protected location away from the ROM?

Thanks for a great forum!

Dwayne

p.s. Perhaps in hindsight, should I have installed the new ROM first, followed by app installation?

The trick is, generally in order to install a ROM, you want to wipe your user data (its in the instructions how to do this), the problem, is this will do a wipe on your device. Now that you are rooted, you can install Titanium Backup, and it will at least backup your apps for you.

Your home screens are a bit tougher unfortunately, if you are using Launcher Pro, there is an option to back them up, and I believe ADW has a similar option. I haven't figured out a way to do it with the stock launcher though, so someone else will have to help you out there.

Hope that helps for ya.
Good luck!

You will lose your settings if you replace the rom.
Think of a clean install of Windows.

However....there are backup programs that backup the program (.apk) and the data they've/you've created.

Titanium and MyBackup are some of them. I personally like the My Backup Root, it's free and is easier to use IMO.

Awesome and thanks for the reply. I do have Launcher Pro and will totally look into Titanium Backup. This is uncharted territory for me, but the adventure has been a great one! Thanks a ton!

There are a TON of good people on here to help...I've leaned on them lately since I started the Root/Rom/Kernal thing. They've been great.
What blows my mind is how one developer is so willing to help another...it's unreal.

Having a strong community as I see here is important to the success of the platform and I'm glad to be here. Also, I'm sure I'll be asking questions. Thanks!

Newbie - after flashing remix 1.5 I get this a lot

I get the following prompt a lot now after flashing BAMF remix 1.5 last night. This is my first ROM and I just rooted last night so I admittedly have little idea what I am doing. It seems that no matter how often I check the box to Use by Default, I continue to be prompted. This happens most of the times I hit the Home key to go from an app back to the home screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Download titanium backup or my backup pro.

With one these apps you can backup all your apps plus the data relating to them. With my backup pro you also can backup how your home screens were layed out. All you need to do when you flash the new rom is download one of these apps and restore your apps.
When flashing new roms you need to clear all user data.
Make sure you make a nandroid back up before flashing anything.

First time with bamf 1.5 via Rom manager. I thought I had flashed the radio update prior to flashing 1.5
But I've run into an issue. The radio has been on 1X for awhile where I usually have strong 4G (i live in nyc)
When I flash the radio I noticed it'll go to through with the flash then a list quickly pops down but goes away followed by an equally fast triangle with an exclamation point. This whole process takes about 30 secs.
I was wondering if this was normal? And if not, how I can go about fixing the radio. I really miss my 4G and 1X is REALLY NOT CUTTING IT.

Thanks in advance people!

i've got the same problem..its been stuck on 1x as well. Is there anyway to get the radio back without starting the process all over?

you fellas with the 1x problem might want to wait it out, there's a thread in the general tbolt forum outlining how a lot of us have suddenly dropped into 1x...

What he said ^^^ there were no problems up until when this 1X business started happening (to unROMed and UNROOTED ppl)!

I will add myself to the 1x list. Been having this all day. I don't really mind it since im not in a 4g area but i am experiencing it now.

Flashed this rom, and no change from the stock root layout at all. I read you have to flash the radio, so I did that as well and still nothing...any ideas?

Got this rom flashed. My first rom. Everything is awesome, except for the 1x issue. Guess i'll wait it out since i don't want to deal with rooting and stuff all over again lol. Does this mean my phone is slower than 3g now?
