[ROM] - 2/5 - CleanROM 2.3 -=ICS Edition=- Clean and Smooth!

Re: [ROM] - 1/25 - CleanROM 2.2 -=ICS Edition=- Tweaked / Tuned /

Now i get an error while loading up the bootloader menu it says, "Main version is older, press power to reboot." keep in mind i installed the OTA update from Verizon a few days ago. if someone has a fix for this, then great! untill then, my bootloader is stuck and i cant install any Roms.

Re: [ROM] - 1/25 - CleanROM 2.2 -=ICS Edition=- Tweaked / Tuned /

Use Amon Ra. I came from a DX and using CWR as well, despite that Amon Ra is not that foreign.

Ok. If I download amon ra, do I have to uninstal clockwork, keep clockwork recovery, or install amon ra and not worry about clockwork still being on my phone. And if I have to uninstall clockwork recovery, how about would I do that?

You can just flash AmonRa. CWM will disappear. Only the most recent recovery remains on the device.

I took the OTA last week and I unlocked my phone and rooted this morning.
Can I load the CleanROM ICS edition or do I need to wait for Scott to makes some changes that the OTA messed up?
Thanks,

Thanks,

First, make sure you make a nandroid before you install CleanRom 2.2 ICS. Then boot into recovery and wipe all data/factory reset. After that you can flash the CleanRom zip file.

Do I need to worry about the mainver error?

Re: [ROM] - 1/25 - CleanROM 2.2 -=ICS Edition=- Tweaked / Tuned /

I don't think so, but I could be wrong. I've never experienced that error. If things don't work out can always wipe again and restore your nandroid and you are back to where you are now.

Re: [ROM] - 1/25 - CleanROM 2.2 -=ICS Edition=- Tweaked / Tuned /

You took the OTA and were able to root still?

Details.

Re: [ROM] - 1/25 - CleanROM 2.2 -=ICS Edition=- Tweaked / Tuned /

How to root (Permanently).
This rooting method again doesn't explicitly require a PC and is permanent until you actively remove it.

1) Flash AmonRa Recovery. Use the other section to do this. If you already installed CWM, this will overwrite it and there won't be negative effects.
2) Boot into AmonRa Recovery.
3) Scroll to and enter the Developer menu.
4) Scroll to install Su. DO NOT INSTALL THE ENG (Unguarded) one. Use the other one.
5) Confirm this, when it is finished, go ahead and reboot. You should be rooted.
6) You can now reflash CWM if you want.

I highly recommend running a nandroid backup after this. This can be done in either recovery via the backup and restore sections. Google this if you don't know how. I figure most of you have used custom recovery before, so I won't go into it here.

Wow, that got easier lol. Glad they updated it the method for the OTA.

Hi Scott., any chance. CleanROM 2.3 ICS fixes the problem with streaming media over Bluetooth?

Installed CleanROM 2.3 ICS and so far it is very smooth. Haven't tested bluetooth media streaming yet.

AFAIK thats an HTC kernel / driver issue that I will not be able to fix. I am sure in the final release from HTC it will be good!

Remember this is a beta build from HTC that they never intended the public to use. When I got my hands on it the leak was so unstable it would reboot every 3 minutes and you couldn't make a call, lol

Its come a long way

Running 2.2sp1 and noticed that in the drop down bar I says No Service. Obviously I do, just wondering if anyone else is seeing this. As usual, great work. If I pick up this job ill definitely be clicking that donate button.

Yeah, some people see that. Toggle airplane mode on and off. If that doesnt fix it try a reboot (with fast boot off).

And thanks!

And good luck on the job!

I am trying to work on some sideloading. However the Security Screen does not have the check box for Unknown Sources. Am I missing something?

Most importantly thank you for all your work!

If I remember correctly, yes the checkbox for Unknown Sources is absent, but I believe Scott made this ROM with Unknown Sources checked as a default setting.
