[ROM][ACS][STOCK] "Swiss Cheese Samsprint" EE03 :: GPS/GTalk voice/video fix! :: 5/16

Been running this instead of SRF, Frozen was faster, but every time I flash back to frozen my keys on my phone stop working right, so I think I will stick with this. I can't wait for a EXT4 version And the modem is way better now, I get a constant signal in my apartment! Thanks ACS!

I had a chance to try this ROM out last night. Definitely good stuff here; can't wait to see some custom builds!

The one thing holding me back from migrating to this ROM as a daily driver is IPsec VPN support. I was able to set this up pretty easily by using a tun.ko file for eclair and froyo (mobile tech videos tutorial on setting up IPsec VPN), but I can't seem to find a gingerbread compatible version of tun.ko.

I did find a post on xda where somebody claims to have a copy of this, but I've tried to download the file several times and get a funky winzip error whenever I try to unpack the file.

Anyhow, if anyone knows how to get Cisco IPsec VPN working on this ROM, I'd love to hear about it!

Edit: I am having sprint v/m issues. I have to use the old school method as visual voicemail won't down load new messages.

I'm see the same issue. Does anyone else have this issue too? Any recommendations on how to fix this?

This is working great by the way. Love me some Gingerbread!!!

Haven't had any msgs come through yet but I'm sure it will be fixed in the next build or official release. Sprint/Sammy actually did a good job on this build its not far from ready..

Do i flash the EE03 modem last or do i put the EE03 modem on before i flash the rom??

OK all I need to do is load the modem. I open up ODIN and what do I put and where?
Place the modem file in the PDA slot and select Auto Reboot and click START

You can flash the ROM, boot up and shut down and then Odin the modem. See above for instructions.

I am having issues with the touch sensitivity, specifically scrolling and accidentally hitting links. I have only experienced this in the browser. Anyone else having this issue?

I set up a Youmail account and downloaded the app from Market. Works pretty much just like Sprint VM but with more options.

3g coverage

Anyone seem to be having 3g problems? After the first initial day with gingerbread my 3g coverage seems to have completely disappeared. 4g works fine, much better in fact, but the 3g is gone :(

This ROM is the best but just one complaint: when my phone has the display off (idling), it will reboot itself when it's been like that for about 5 minutes or so. It would just do it randomnly and sometimes, when I press the power button, it wouldn't even turn on. Or when I held the power button, it wouldn't turn on

the only thing holding me back from this ROM is how laggy it is. ED12 has a better framerate in scrolling (and even that was kinda bad and laggy). Now, it's so slow that it feels like I have a Hero again.

I want the Nexus S so bad....

I really don't believe its that bad. Try a different launcher and speed up the transitions.. I'm using ADW EX and it has a bit of scrolling lag in the app drawer and screens occasionally but not that bad. I think everyone got to used to EXT4 and its snappiness.

Scrolling has never been as smooth as Eclair, but on stock EC05, you can clearly see a framerate difference. To me, with the other bugs present (random reboots for example), you might as well just flash the modem and another ROM of your choice that works better.

To go along with that, I like the screen transitions and hardware acceleration Gingerbread brings with the device being "stock".

To be sure I did this right, here is what I did:

Odin to EC05
Enable USB debugging and run CWM 3.0.2.5
Phone restarts and I pull the battery and boot into CWM 3.0.2.5
Wipe data/cache three times
Wipe Dalvik/Battery 3 times
Flash the ROM and restart
Lag is present :'(

I have tried several lauchers with GB. LPP or ADW EX both are much better than TW for lag etc.

Have you flashed the CIQ removal ? That will help things along a bit as it did on EB13/EC05. Not going to perform miracles but its less clutter in the OS.

Random reboots, haven't had a single one. Only issue I have had is the occasional toggling of airplane mode when switching from 4g to 3g because the transfer back to 3g sometimes won't go without a toggle.. (Happened maybe 3 or 4 times since flashing yesterday AM.) Otherwise WI FI is strong it seems, thats about it... Running sweet as Gingerbread could be otherwise...

Oh ya FM radio doesn't work for me, but that isn't considered part of the ROM itself so I'm not counting that.

yes I flashed this and it didn't help. it sucks because I want stock Gingerbread so bad. I hate using external launchers too, so I guess it's back to Bonsai Froyo :'(

Guess we'll see you again in a few weeks on the next leak/official release or when they get EXT4 hacked into GB. :p
