[ROM][ACS]SyndicateROM Frozen 1.2 (Updated 6/20)

Cleared cache and dalvik cache again and fix permissions...no luck. After flashing the black bionix theme, the radio is inoperable along with lots of FC's. Strange...both the baseband version and hardware version show "unknown".
I'd suggest you start clean and try again. There's another factor at play here - unless that theme replaces .jars.

Could it be the themed Facebook app that the Bionix theme uses?
Not likely, but entirely possible.

Thanks...I'll start from scratch and hopefully that will fix things. I did notice a few posts at XDA that some needed to wipe everything, including user data, before flashing this theme.

Hmm... I tried uninstalling the Facebook app but its not listed in the market or Astro... Im just gonna star fresh without installing the Bionix theme and see how that goes.

You can remove it from /system/app while the theme is on your device or remove it from the ZIP before flashing.

I'd like to ask again about WiFi under Airplane Mode.

It appears that WiFi works while in Airplane Mode under stock EC05 (as it did under Eclair). Activating Airplane Mode will turn the WiFi off if it is already on, but then you can turn it back on again while still remaining in Airplane Mode.

This does not work in SRF.

I used this feature all the time, as I spend a lot of time in marginal/no signal areas, where leaving the cellular radio on eats battery (and beeps incessantly), yet I have WiFi available. Plus, it's handy to be able to use in-flight WiFi when its available, but the rest of the radios must remain off.

What would it take to get this capability working again in SRF?

Wired Tether (will be fixed in kernel 1.1.1) and Wireless Tether are free.

Does wireless tether include via bluetooth? I tried to tether via bluetooth on other platforms but couldn't get internet access despite successfully connecting the pc to the device. I assumed the reason I couldn't get internet access was because sprint somehow was able to block any attempts to bypass their have to buy the plan addon for tethering.

K0nane has said he's looking into getting that implemented in 1.1.1. In the meantime, if you set your wi-fi settings to "never sleep" then you'll remain connected to wi-fi even when your phone is off and you won't waste battery searching for a data connection. It'll still waste a little battery searching for a cell connection, but the cell radio itself uses a LOT less battery than the cell radio while connected to data.

I spend many hours deep inside big brick and metal buildings every day that net me a consistent 0-1 bars. I just turn wi-fi on or data connection off, and I can still get well over a day with light use.

Okay, I tried the method that Paul posted to wipe phone and turn journaling back on. This has definitely helps and I have only a one FC since then. The current problem is that about half of the time when I use the internet, the phone locks up and I have to do a battery pull. Ideas?

I ended up getting the same thing. It was weird too, since it tended to be google news that would cause the freeze. I ended up using a Baked Snack Kernal with the Syndicate ROM. Only annoying part is having to reroot, but that's simple enough.

My favorite combination so far :D

If I don't overclock it and leave for work at 6:30am with a full charge and leave work at 4:30pm, with between an hour-hour and a half of screen on time, mostly from Wordfeud, around 25-30 texts and 10 or so emails that I'm too lazy to go back into my office to reply on my computer, I'm around 60 percent battery.

There are some minor web surfing moments thrown in there but I couldn't put a specific time on it. It's minimal.

I suck at editing tonight.

Wow, I'm going to put this ROM on my phone before work. That sounds way better battery than Stock.

Can't go wrong with this decision .

Rooted with 3.0.0.6 One root..
Tried to Flash it. It said "Installation Aborted" after "installing update".
I applied the update.zip and was pushed to Clock work 3.0.2.4. Still trying to flash the ROM and keep getting Installation aborted.

Is there a small detail they do not include in the instructions or what.

Followed all the steps.. Dont know whats happening. I knew something would go wrong.
Guess I'll have no phone tonight.

You can always go back to stock DI 18 using Odin and try again.
Try to hold down the 3 buttons (vol down, power and camera) and go back into Clockwork Mod. Do the 3 wipes ( Wipe data/ factory reset, wipe Davlik, then go into Advanced and wipe Cache) try again

BTW are you on EC05? When you used Clockwork did it convert to Ext 4.

The first time I tried a custom rom, I was up until 2am trying...you'll get it

Im on EC05 Stock. It converted everything to Ext4 I followed EVERY instruction.

Why is this happening... I didnt download that EB13 Default Kernel Stock.zip though cause that wasn't instructed in the tutorial video. This is why I wanted to stay away from this ROM stuff.
