[ROM][ACS]SyndicateROM Frozen 1.2 (Updated 6/20)

this happened to me and nothing would work, not a different pc, not rebooting, not even reflashing the ROM. i Odin'd to stock EC05 with CWM3 and converted to EXT4, then flashed, and mass storage works now. i think i may have had a bad flash of EC05 originally - that was the last thing i did before SFR.

i also just went back to EB13 modem. i think this modem is better for my battery. signal strength wasn't very good on EC05

Just to clarify for those that replied, its not an issue with the pc, its the epic. I know because I tried it on more than one pc as well as my car stereo usb input. You plug it in, the epic brings up the choice of charging, mass storage, etc...and I choose mass storage. Next screen has the green android with the button that says turn on, press it and nothing happens. You can see the touchscreen registering the touch but nothing happens. Rebooting doesn't solve the problem. Unplugging and replugging in the usb doesn't fix it. Sometime later it just randomly starts working again. Annoying.

i was using the stock wifi tether apk that came with this rom and it was working prefectly but now everytime i try to open wifi tether my phone freeezes and reboots. is there a fix for this??
I was having same issue with wifi tether. I went to setttings and selected the Epic and no further issues.

i had this exact problem so I started using Wireless Tether. then i read on the xda thread for this ROM and found this:
To get wireless tethering to work:
Go into settings of the Wireless tether app before you start
Change the Device Type to Epic
Then, ensure that you are NOT on 4G
Start the tether
Once connected on 3G, you can turn on 4G, it will work now.
NEVER turn on 4G before you start the tether

as soon as i started doing that, wifi tether never rebooted my phone (i still use Wireless Tether because i usually keep 4g on and don't want to switch it off just to start tethering)

Im rooted 2.1 eclair, superuser v2.3.6.1 can i use this rom or do i have to re-root to 3.0.0.6 because of the EXT4 ? If so do i follow the same process since i am rooted or is it altered in any way ?

Back everything up. Root with 3.0.0.6, boot into clockwork wipe everything 3x and flash the rom... Have 1.1.0 on your sd as well in case flashing 1.1.1 the first time doesnt work flash 1.1.0

I know its not a major problem but of anyone can help I just installed srf 1.1.1 and only problem I have had so far is the desk clock keeps force closing I do use beautiful widgets app for my clock on my home screen does. Anyone have the apk file so I can unistall it and re install it

Thanks for trying to help guys I ended up finding the deskclock .apk (plus other cool apk files;-) ) file in the xda thread for the supernova rom

So if I am coming from SRF 1.1.0....do I need to use Odin? Or can I just boot into clockwork, clear 3 times and install?

You don't even have to wipe 3 time :)
But if you do have issues after just flashing the rom, then wipe everything and re flash

No odin needed :)

I'm trying to go from Malanga(1.0.2) to 1.1.1..... the instructions on xda just say to flash the ec05 modem in odin, then flash the rom, no big deal..... but the links to the ec05 modem have no tar file for me to use in odin, so I'm rather confused. I also kinda assumed using odin would send me to stock ec05, and I'd have to re-root with cwm?

Try this. Flash the EC05 modem through clockwork. Here is the download you need for the modem:

acs-ec05-modem.tar
Download that and follow these instructions to flash a modem: YouTube - ‪How to flash a modem on the Samsung Epic using Odin‬‏

After that, make sure 1.1.1 is on sd card and wipe everything 3X and flash the Rom. You're on CWM 3.0.0.6 right?

Weird FLASH video issue.. video is fine.. Audio is slooooooooow!

I've recently noticed an issue with the audio for flash videos. Everything worked fin up until few days or week ago.

My wife's epic has SRF 1.1.0 and whenever she streams flash video.... The audio seems to super slow and does not match the video. This never happened before.

I tried my epic (ACE ROM 2.0) and it had the same issue.. BUT, I was able to uninstall the recent Adobe Flash updates and restored it to the original 10.2 version.. That seemed to do the trick and my Epic played flash videos with normal audio again.

However, the same technique on my wife's epic doesn't seem to work.. I tried deleting the app and wiping out data.. Even tried re-installing a version from March ( I had a Titanium backup).

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated:(!

All I can say is WOW. This is the first ROM I've had where the battery lasts me over 14 hours using email, listening to bluetooth audio and keeping Tweetdeck updated in the background while using all other services such as sms, voice calls, and Exchange emails. I used to think people were just making it up when they said a custom ROM extended their battery life, but now I see it does work. Also able to OC to 1300 Mhz makes me a happy Epic 4G owner!

WiFi tether crashed SRF 1.1.1

Not sure if this is really SRF related or just crash-related, but today I plugged my phone in to charge at the airport, connected to 4G, and then started the wifi tether. It took a while to start up, and then the phone just reboot. Started to load up fine, but then I started to get tons of FC pop ups (MMS, Swype, acore, gmail, etc.). After shutting down and rebooting, most of the errors went away, but the Swype FC persisted, and because of that, the SMS app would crash and just about anything that used the keyboard. So, I cleared all the data, wiped the cache a few times, but still the FC after rebooting. Shutdown and pulled the battery. Still the same thing.

I eventually reflashed 1.1.1. and that got rid of the Swype error (obviously). I subsequently tried the wifi tether and it worked without a hitch.

Anyway, in the future, is there a better way to stop a similar FC other than reflashing?

@kevin, sounds like you just had some random crash resulting in data corruption from the unexpected reboot due to running I assume with no journaling. Not much you can do in this situation except the wipe and flash.
