[ROM] Android Open Kang Project- Jelly Bean Style

just flashed this rom. I'm getting errors that say, "Unfortunately Email has stopped". and "Unfortunately, Exchange Services has stopped". Other than that, everything seems golden. It was a lot easier and faster thanks to Titanium Backup. I did not do anything with the System data nor did I back up any google apps.

edit: found two more errors under Settings>Quick Links>Themes and Settings>Quick Links>Device Options. when clicking them, it says, "Unfortunately, System has stopped".

Did you a do a full wipe when you flashed: Wipe data/factory reset, wipe caches, wipe system...? And definitely did not restore any system or google data? Also which gapps did you use? I would stick with the 7/26 'official' ones..

I went back to the 4.0.4 radios. he new ones were giving me problems, like low signal, losing data connections randomly even though I had full signal and so forth. I'm still on build 1 of AOKP. Obviously I should flash a new one, but am curious how close (if at all) a milestone might be. . . . .

I am having these issues with the new radios now too. At first they seemed like they were going to be a hit, now I cant get a 4g Connection at my house to save my life, even tho I would normally get 4 bars inside sitting at my computer. If i switch my LTE radio off then back on it takes 5 mins to re establish a data connection, and it connects by 3g and doesnt take the 4g connection at all, so back to the 4.0.4 radios for me tonight.

As far as aokp is concerned, I am SO happy with the B1 and Franco M5 combo that Im not flashing anything else until aokp b2 and/or franco m6 comes out.

Glad to come back to AOKP.

Did a complete wipe. Then flashed aokp_toro_jb-build-1.zip and gapps-jb-20120726-signed.zip. Now no camera.

I reflashed gapps. Still no camera.

What did I do wrong? How do I get the camera back?

Joey

Do you have a gallery? That's really, really odd.

What you need to do is a SYSTEM WIPE before the flash. Simply do a dirty flash with a system wipe (format system under mounts/storage in recovery). Then flash those two zips.

Yes I have a Gallery.

Should I still wipe and reflash?

OK. I did the Format System and reflashed. All is well, thank you.

If something is odd it usually will happen to me. I'm used to it.

Yup, when in doubt make sure to do a system wipe and dirty flash. If the problem persists, either clean flash with a fresh download or choose another GAPPS package (or another rom entirely).

I've not been paying much attention lately since the AOKP build 1 has been working so well for me. It looks like they re-released build 1? What's up with that? Were there bugs? I've had some apps close on my occasionally but nothing major.

So I decided to try out AOKP rather than the CM10 monthly based on the good feedback, but so far I'm having a few issues. It doesn't seem as smooth as BB was (it often seems to get bogged down when something else is running), and while I have a gallery, it's only showing items that are stored on my phone, it no longer finds stuff uploaded to Picasa or other Google accounts like it did previously.

I wiped everything coming from BB, I flashed the first AOKP beta release, then flashed the 9/26 7/26 GAPPs. After finding the problem with the gallery I wiped Dalvik a second time but to no avail. Any suggestions?

I want to know how you got the future gapps, did you come back from the future?

Lol, sorry, the 7/26 GAPPs. Still not seeing the rest of my off-phone gallery images :(

Try a different kernel. Faux's kernel is terrible.

And a bad kernel could impact what the gallery sees? Or is that more a fix for the lack of smoothness (which has gotten a bit better over the last 24-hours)?

That's why I love this forum, I'm always learning new stuff. Franco then? Or Lean?

Thanks!

Edit: Kernels are in the realm of dirty-flashing, no? I checked the appropriate XDA threads and found out my memory was good here. Anyone have an opinion on Lean vs Franco, and the stable versions of each vs. the latest nightlies?

Quick update - I flashed the latest stable version of Franco's kernel, and I'm already impressed with how much more pep the UI has. The issue with the gallery app only seeing images on my phone and not pulling in sources from the rest of my Google account is still happening, and it's a fairly serious problem for me because I use my phone and tablet as a portfolio that pulls down from Picasa. I suppose I'll have to flash something new and completely wipe again, but it sucks setting up my phone each time.

The problem with gallery is the gapps. There's two options out there, either find a gapps that has picsa sync or one that has the camera mods - power button shutter, volume zoom, etc

I am having battery issues with BB and may be coming back to the Pink Uni.
Can someone gather the links of the latest info and I can update the OP.

That makes sense - would the 7/23 GAPPs return my full gallery then, or is there some other version I should use?
