[ROM] Android Open Kang Project- Jelly Bean Style

Is there any way you could grab that app drawer icon and send it my way?

It's from the cobalt theme, although you probably already know that. If you are running one of the newest ROMs with Theme Engine support built in, you can download the theme from the play store to get the app drawer icon, that might be the easiest thing to do. If not, I can try to figure out how to grab the icon and send it your way a little later today...work is getting in the way of more important stuff like this! :D

Hm. Do... other kernels not work with the new AOKP nightlies? I flashed Trinity, and while it was doing that "Android is now upgrading" thing after boot, the colors were adjusted as they are with Trinity kernels, but after getting to my last app, the colors returned to normal, and I looked in my About Phone and the kernel was listed as the one that came with AOKP.

They should all generally work. Trinity is still working for me?

Odd. I've tried flashing the Trinity kernel twice, and it just reverts to the normal AOKP one after booting up.

Which kernel? I've noticed that they are now saying stable instead of alpha. Did you try a different version of the kernel. Maybe a bad download or your phone just didn't like that kernel. Use a lower speed one to start.

Honestly, you're probably looking at something a bit weird. :)

What's reverting, the settings? The settings in the trinity app? Where?

When you reboot, what does the about phone say? Morfic? That's trinity.

Ah, I've been using an alpha 35 version, gonna try flashing the stable one now.

D'oh, I accidentally hit the power button to reboot my phone without having flashed the kernel. >_< And of course, my phone sits on the "Google" screen for 1-2 minutes... Maybe I should flash the JB bootloader, although I haven't been able to find the file for that.

Also, even after wiping and flashing a new ROM, every time I place a new bootanimation.zip in either of the folder, it still only plays the "android" boot animation. :/

Flashed the stable 35 release, but it looks like I'm still on the AOKP kernel. I included a screenshot; that is the AOKP kernel, correct? I don't understand why, after three flashes, it's still not being applied...

I've been having a few random reboots and sleeps of death with the preview builds and a reboot already with the current nightly. I did a clean flash. I assume this could be kernel related. I always have gone straight to Franco and am currently running his latest nightly (230). Any kernel suggestions if that may be the culprit or any other suggestions? Thank you!

morfic is the dev of trinity... it looks like you got the right kernel

Oh. Huh. My mistake then. I guess it just kinda weirded me out that the color changed after I flashed it the first time; usually the Trinity ones make everything a bit "bluer", which it did, but like I said, after it finished "updating Android" or whatever, the color snapped back into normal. Also, for some reason, I thought the Trinity kernels said something different, in the About Phone section. That morfic bit seemed different to me, but I could be remembering wrong.

You're fine, that's trinity--just like I said, it has "morfic."

I've had them with one app--Spotify. This has been an issue for me for a while with the JB roms (port or otherwise); under "heavy" signal load (i.e. it requires/using a lot of data, but then I go to a deadzone) it'll freeze up and reboot directly to the boot animation.

Have not tried it on the "official" nightly, but it pretty much happens like clockwork--regardless of stock, trinity, or franco kernel.

Correct.

Morfic = trinity.

Go change colors and speeds. It will work.

dm, your new icon is scary/weird.... bring back the 'fro

im beyond confused with whats going on with AOKP at this point. i briefly tried P6 the other day, but since AutoRec didnt work, and i dont have TiBu, and appExtractor doesnt work with CWM6, i went back to 'skank. judging by P6, AOKP seems to be same as 'skank, just with controls all under ROM Controls instead of scattered about, so im not in a rush to get on the unicorn.

so the nightly is what, a refreshed P7? which GAPPS are we using (this seems to be the most confusing point, since it seems like a crapshoot which package contains JB apps and which doesnt)

I'm using xoomdev's 7/23 Apps and auto restore has happened every time I've tried (twice).

The nightly is a polished version of Preview 7, FWIW.

ok, so not the 7/26 signed (thats what i used when i tried P6)
does that gapps pack contain JB apps?

well, if the mailman doesnt bring me my shiny new lens tonight for me to play with, i may give the unicorn a whirl

Correct.

Sounds like it might be something else going on there, Spotify has never given me any reboots on AOKP.

It's the signal and the buffering. I've had it happen on a few devices and apparently it's a known issue. Doesn't excuse it, but alas.

Play Music has never done it though :).

Spotify has a higher bitrate, if not the highest bitrate for a music player out there, (320!) That has to be set at that rate in settings, I'm almost positive that you can set that lower. That might help, and do you use WiFi when playing Spotify? Because of the high quality (bitrate) sound of Spotify I exclusively use WiFi when playing it.

Now I am converting to the Kang once again! They seemed to have polished a lot during their preview builds... Glad to see Nightlies are starting.
