[ROM]CM10.1/PAC-rom jb 4.2.2 The JBC alpha build

I thought that entropy providers were disproved?
Anyway, great rom, with a couple caveats. I've noticed that whenever I try to open the power menu, it fades in, then out, then in again. Is there any particular reason why?

Edit: I also forgot, what happened to the USB fast charge thing in the power widget, and the status bar battery? Those were my favorite things from cm9.

Not Crossbreeder, which is different from others. I haven't noticed a difference yet.

As far as fast charge, that can be enabled in the Performance Control, swipe to the right and you'll get the set of tweaks. But you will need to reboot after checking it.

If by performance control you mean the "Performance" sub-menu that's enabled by tapping the build number 7 times, enlighten me. I can't seem to find the necessary stuff.
(I know to use the fastcharge widget, but having it in the power widget was so much more convenient.)

Are you using JBC or PAC-Rom? On PAC, when you go slide to System, between Superuser and About Phone is Performance Control. Go there, swipe to Advanced.

On JBC, go to about phone, tap the "Build Number" section 7 times in a row, then go back to the main settings screen and performance options should be there.

I'm curious why development on JBC is halted but PAC is continuing? The JBC rom runs much much smoother on my phone and it's not even close, Pac feels like it's struggling the entire time while JBC feels like this phone was maybe even meant to run JellyBean. Still appreciate the good work, if google now and mms were working on JBC it'd be a no brainer for best rom for the optimus V imo.

Flashed PAC and obijohn's int2ext+ script yesterday and have to agree, the phone feels very labored and laggy. I flashed the CrossBreeder thing, and if it made a difference, it didn't make enough of one. To the extent that I can understand what CrossBreeder is supposed to do, it doesn't even seem like it's aimed at some of the very basic things I'm experiencing, like hitting the Home button and having to wait several seconds for it to respond, very sluggish responses in moving through the system settings menus, on-screen buttons which aren't responsive unless you wait a beat or two after they pop up before trying to press them, etc. I'm using InteractiveX with 480/768, which has always worked well on this phone.

I never tried JBC, but I ran the BobZ CM10.0 ROM for quite awhile; it worked great overall, and seemed like there were just a few small things that needed to be fixed. It's a shame he had to drop developing it with the finish line seemingly in sight. If I wanted to try JBC, do I need to wipe everything and start from scratch?

Should Google Now be on my phone? It doesn't seem to be listed as an installed feature, and scrolling up from the bottom of the screen doesn't bring it up like it does on my Nexus 7. I installed the
"multi-dpi" Gapps.

I need to set the apn from my LS670 but I have no access to it

Say "open apn's" to the Voice Dialer app..then repeat until it recognizes what yr saying!
Incidentally, I've read conjecture that only system apps can even read APN settings in JB 4.2...this seems true to me, as I had to manually enter apn info into Chomp SMS to make MMS work, while it worked fine with stock messaging app.

Did you try any of the audio fixes? The kraven posted a few back a little bit in this thread.

I'm going to try my hand at tweaking this a bit more and attempting dev on the V.

I used to run this, and it was awesome, but the threads gotten a bit long, and I can't decide which version of pac is the most stable on the OPTIMUS V.

Anyone else who runs it on a V, please pm me with any personal tweaks you've done (kernels, fixes, etc) and Ill give you credit if/when I release it over there.

Kraven, thanks for the awesome starting point. If I misread that you want someone to continue this, please let me know. This Tom is too great to fall to the wayside.

My wired headset (Skullcandy Hesh's) came in the mail today, and I got to try some testing with them. I'm curious; is there kernel support for headset buttons (like, the wired button on my headset plays/pauses on my iPod), and what the key code for it would be if there is (so I could rebind it for notifications or something else rad like that.)?

Sorry if this has been already been asked, but is there a fix for MMS on the Optimus V? I flashed the patch, and so far everything is working absolutely wonderfully, except I get the usual "gibberish from 999-999-9999" issue with MMS. Even if there's some sort of manual solution, that'd be cool too.

I use Handcent and it works great. Go SMS also works well with MMS

I haven't had this phone for a year now, have a gs3 now.

It's good to see the optimus s still alive. With more roms . And good devs

You may want to try flashing Leslieann's Rhode Utility ROM, although it is built for the optimus V. You may still want to try it out or return to the Stock ROM - I had no issues on my end when trying it and your phone may have bugged out a little.
