I updated to 10-23! I went to restore and everything was going fine. Then I tried to update superuser binary and lost root access. Restored backup then I regained access? Any ideas? Says su binary vnull? Tried updating binary again after restore and I lost root access again. I think there is a problem with superuser binary updater.

fresh install! its nothing with the update because it did the same thing after a restore. i reflashed the new update again after a full wipe. from what im seeing its the binary update with superuser that is causing this.

It looks like 3.0.6 is causing some to lose root. https://market.android.com/details?id=com.noshufou.android.su&hl=en

Do you have 3.0.4 backed up?

Look for SU update Fixer on the market and try that first.

It might be pointing to the Donut 1.5 binairy by mistake. Here is the correct one for Gingerbread. http://downloads.androidsu.com/superuser/su-3.0.1-bin-efgh-signed.zip

yes and i would have probably been screwed without it. also my status bar screen seems to be gone and i have no idea how to get it back.

I never lost root... my phone wouldn't open any rooted programs and started freezing but I just flashed a prior superuser and binary zip through recovery and all is good now.

I will have to fix the status bar bug and reupload , and include a notice not to update the Superuser Binary. The 10/23 nightly comes with 3.0.4. It's the update that kills root. Sorry for the troubles.

Everything for the moment is running fine. When I reflashed I didn't update the binary. Thank you for your quick response on this issue.

thekraven, you had posted to use a past version of google voice to fix my sync issues. You recommended the inverted themed version in the OP, and while I liked the inversion, the green and red was too much for me. I found these inverted google apps that are really sweet. Check them out !!

The one I downloaded is 4.2.36, and just flashed it and havent had a way to test yet, but did just get a text come thru with no delay and not having to force sync. thats a good sign.

How's the latest ROM in terms of battery life v. performance? I'm still on 11 Oct or so, lazy on updating because I'm not sure if the new features mean all that much to me.

Updated 10/23 Links are back up. Transparency patch is separate now. Remember not to update the Superuser program or binary if prompted to, at least not until they fix it.

10/23 wouldn't install for me. Kept saying "E:No digest for system/app/Superuser.apk"
Tried downloading it twice and same thing.
