[ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 3/9 zvd only

I didn't fix any graphics glitch, though there was an issue with GingerKernel versions prior to v07 where overclocking with some frequencies between 600MHz and 728MHz caused strange screen garble. Disabling those "rogue" frequencies seems to have solved the issue.

As for the black screen when coming out of sleep, I'm still looking into fixing that for 2.6.35, but it's not extremely high on my priority list.

Basically, there isn't anything in GingerKernel that really applies to your 2.6.32 kernel or CM7.

The blank screen is not really an issue on my phone. Just a blank video screen. I have not had any other issues with the new version.

I call it a graphics glitch but it's that screen garble/re-draw.

Occasionally it looks like there is a line being re-drawn vertically from the bottom to the top of the screen.

I have no issues with it, but I noticed that when I flashed Drew's GingerKernel 7.1 - no more line glitch.

How do I access the 'GPS Privacy Settings' on this ROM? Usually it's in 'Location and Security'.

Re: [ROM] CM7.1 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 11-07-2011

I believe Gingerbread in general doesn't have that setting anymore.

Re: [ROM] CM7.1 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 11-07-2011

what is 'agps patcher' and where do i get it?

EDIT: AGPS Patch LG Optimus One 3.0 & 2.2 | GET BACK TO RAPID GPS LOCK & MORE SATS - xda-developers

that should explain it for anyone else wondering.

I tried the gpsfix2 and gpsfix3. Still stuck on 'searching for GPS'. Weird. Don't think it has anything to do with this rom because i flashed other roms and had the same issues.

Before going to sprint for service help. I had GPS service die once, but it was from going from ZVH to VD. Below are a few suggestions to try.

  • You phone might need to be reprovisioned for data service. This is from the Gingerbread downgrade to VD thread. You need to be on a Sprint VD based rom (Reborn works) and Xionia or stock recovery.
  • - No access to data services (indicated by the lack of a 1X or 3G next to the Signal Indicator).
  • Workaround: From the dial pad, type ##72786# (##SCRTN#) and the device's MSL. The device will power cycle and perform a hands free activation which will resolve the issue. Note: If you do not know your MSL, contact Sprint Customer Service at 888-211-4727 for assistance.
2nd option to try.
  • Make sure you are starting from a freshly wiped phone. From recovery go to mounts, Format boot, data, cache, and system.
  • From here flash the VD update.zip twice, and you should be in VD with everything stock. Go to settings and update profile and prl. And check to see if GPS works.
  • If you want to stay with CM7, then do those 4 data wipes again and flash the latest Rom and Google Apps and reboot.

How can I get that custom carrier label?

It will be in the next release hopefully, as I need to test it. If you are in airplane mode or have no service, the "no service" banner takes over.

Hey, where is the link to 11-03 status bar patch for both transparency and center clock that I could use on 11-07 build (I cant seem to locate it in the OP). 11-07 patches aren't working for me properly. Thanks in advance.

I love having the ability to use custom ROMs and I've been experimenting with a few. I'm currentlly using opti-ROM which I like mostly because of the built-in a2sd and the blue scheme. My question for this group is: is it worth going back to ZVD to use this ROM? One benefit I know about is the wifi tethering will work again and GPS will be widget toggleable. The ROM looks feature rich. Should I do it?

did you load the xionia recovery first? And do the necessary data wipes?

Also there's a good chance your download is bad or incomplete. Check the md5 checksum and compare with the numbers in the OP

Flash it and find out! Only you can be the judge of that.

I knew that was going to be the reply and I actually feel the same way. The thing is, it's a lot of work just to see if it's worth it. On the other hand, it's fun, right? That's why we do it.

Its worth it trust me! The kraven has put a lot of time and effort into this project and will be more than happy to help you with any issue you encounter.
