[ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 3/9 zvd only

Re: [ROM] CM7.1 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 11-20-2011

is anyone having any issues with not receiving phone calls. A couple builds back i started having this issue (i tested it by using my wifes phone to call my cell, house phone to call cell, and a couple friends telling me that i'm not picking up phone). I had to revert back to an older CM7 to get phone working again. On this build (11/20) im noticing it takes a few rings of whatever phone i'm using to call my cell before my phone even starts ringing.

Have you tried doing the revert to the Gingerbreak Stock VD image and updating PRL then Profile?

Then revert back to your current nandroid and see if you have better results.

well now that you mention it.......it has been a couple months since i've done that.

Re: [ROM] CM7.1 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 11-20-2011

Yes, it had been quite a while since I had done that. Had issues with slow data, slow cell service, etc.
After updating prl and profile, everything went back to "normal"
Lol!

Re: [ROM] CM7.1 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 11-20-2011

well my prl went from 60681 to 60683. Im about to nandroid back to newest CM7 and see if it helps any.

EDIT: that seemed to have made it worse, now it just misses the calls and rings until it goes to VM.

Only thing I would try next is a full wipe with the debug-format-system or debug-format-all as well.

Wipe and fresh install 11/20.

I was running kraven's 9/27 build and was wanting to try a new one.

Did a complete factory reset from the recovery menu, then a debug-format-system wipe.

Fresh installed the full 11/20 build, then google apps 11/19 (the latest one) then VVCM7 zip

Rebooted, let it config, setup google account etc, couple more reboots, everything working great.

11/20 is a very nice, stable, fast build for me - no issues encountered so far.

I should mention that it seems the 11/12 version is ignoring the set ringer for some contacts and applying the default ringer

Are the custom ringers for different contacts working on the 11/20 build? If so, nevermind the info below.

I see in this 10/28 CM7 commit that it could have borked it. Here is a 10/23 phone.apk and see if that fixes it. The 10/28 commit would play the default ringer if it can't read the SD card in time or finds no SD card. See the attachment below....just flash in recovery and test.

What voice mail do you use? Google voice updates coincided too, so maybe some settings in the PC google voice settings need adjusting. Also go thru the sound settings for ringer and make sure they play. Only way i could get a "no ring" to occur is if i moved the ringer to a different directory.

Or see the above post.

Thanks for all the work dude / dudette!

11/20 is rocking quite nicely @ 825 mhz and no graphical glitches like I was experiencing on 9/27

Very cool

Donated to the donut fund!

(Wrong of me to assume it's only "dude's" on here...)

I'm running the 11/20 update, so no problems there, things work quite nicely. Except for when moving things to sdcard. 11/17 update had no problems moving to SDcard, 11/20 update takes two tries most times, first time ending with a notice that it failed, but second time working.

it seems that the profile and prl update may have finally gotten things working better. As far as voice mail goes, I have a google voice account that is linked to the phone, though I haven't messed with the settings for that in about a year (i don't even install the app on my phone). And what your saying about moving the ringer to a different directory sounds like like you're misunderstanding what i mean by "no ring". its not that the phone doesn't make a sound, it wasn't even acknowledging a phone call coming in. Like i said though, it seems to be working better now.

Okay quick question. I have been running this rom for a while now and just updated to 11 / 20 barebones. My question is about the transparency zip and what that does. I have not flashed this in the past and was wondering if I should now. Seems that notification is already transparent.

Also does anyone else have issues with treatment lock screen occationally freezing? I have happening in the current and former versions I have used and just lived with it. And had it happen with both ring and rotary locks.

the transparency is for CM7 themes that have transparent status bars. its not necessary unless you want to use one of those themes.

The flashable zip gives you a transparent statusbar if you have a theme that supports one. It'll look like this

CM7 tip: New lock screen option for one Ring bubble only in 11/20 builds. Shown with the stock ring and some theming applied.
Go to : Settings > Cyanogenmod settings > Lockscreen > Style Options > Check Minimal Ring style. I'll help with theming just ask. Either by adb or Zipthemer.

It's all in the framework-res.apk . You can pull that file via adb or grab it from within the ROM zip file. Depends on your capabilities with 7zip and copy and pasting system files. And swapping out graphic png files using 7zip. Using zipthemer kind of does it for you. I haven't made the zipthemer yet. The attached file below is just the graphics that you unzip and drop into the /res/drawable-mdpi/ folder with 7zip. Then push the framework-res.apk file to your phone.

EDIT. Here is the Zipthemer file: http://www.mediafire.com/?loxiehdcfw5zob0 and minimal version http://www.mediafire.com/?zv18m8ajkpqra37..download to your SDcard. Install Zipthemer from the Market. Open the App and click the +Theme button. Then click Build it. Choose to make an undo also. Now you will have a flashable zip to flash in recovery. Don't worry about edify options with Xionia recovery.
