Cm7 is built mostly from open source 2.3.7 gingerbread with some sprint/LG proprietary files to get it working on our phones. Then customized by cyanogenmod and iho team features. For now, it only works with the zvd radio baseband.

Zvh is a newer radio baseband. And the sprint based gingerbread only works with that radio. It might be 2.3.5.

You can try either on whatever radio you are on, but you won't have data or calls.

Okay, so i have read through the forum but still have not found a clear answer to a question that has been bugging me. Currently i have reborn with ZVD. I want to upgrade to gingerbread so... What is the difference between ZVD gingerbread and ZVH gingerbread?

Yeah cm7 is Gingerbread just on a different radio basically ....

*Offline charging fixed. Been testing and waiting to include this in the new build. Thanks to tdm and adfadd
*Adb over network function added
*latest CM7 sync. T9 dialer fixes.
*More theming mods by Jerryscript.

I'll make just the offline booting available first. Just flash this and let me know if it works. CM7.offline.charging.bootimg.zip


This just updates to the 3.6 Bobzhome kernel and new build ramdisk with offline charging.
It's the standard offline charging animation. I am planning on customizing that and the bootup animation. That's still in the works.

It's the standard offline charging animation. I am planning on customizing that and the bootup animation. That's still in the works.

Yes, it actually stays off and charges, or at least the standard animation looks like it is charging. I did not leave it past 5 minutes. T9 works too, just punched in a few number and hit the listing, it dialed correctly.

Nice new boot image, and it seems to load the apps off my sd card faster than before, as in the icons show the actual image instead of the stock one more quickly (I have a 32gb card with alot of music, and the apps that will move from the settings, manage applications, sd menu, nothing forced with trickery).

offline charging animation? (Different from online charging?)

Also, how to change boot animation? (When I preview one from the cyanogenmod settings menu, it plays a boot animation that is not the one I downloaded.

@thekraven: LeslieAnn figured out the error in the instructions she posted for converting RLEs. You don't need a RAW image to start with, but a PNG image in basically RAW format. Should be able to customize the first bootanimation now that it works.

Hi! I finally rooted my Optimus and installed this ROM. However, my ##DEBUG does not work anymore. I need this option for work. How can I restore this? Is there a FieldTrial.apk or FieldTest.apk for Optimus S that is out there? I tried to search the forum but no luck. Thank you for the help.

Sprint codes don't work with cm7. Depending on what info you are looking for. You can try launcherpro and their hidden menus. You can look at minor info with the sprintmenu.apk in the OP, but no option to change with msl.

I noticed that cyanogenmod refers to an autofocus feature in their about section. Their screenshot shows a green box on a part of the screen. Is This (1) included in this port and I can't find it, (2), not included with this ROM, or (3), Not supported on this phone because of hardware?

thekraven, thanks so much for all you've done. I've been running your 11-20 build for a few months now and couldn't be happier. I don't know why I didn't root my phone earlier...this is worlds better than the stock Sprint rom!

I'm really excited about the offline charging patch that you just posted. Will this work with the 11-20 build, or do I need to be running 12-22? I've been avoiding upgrading because things were so rock solid in 11-20, and the centered clock didn't appeal to me. However, offline charging sounds really great. I was recently traveling and only brought along my HP Touchpad microUSB wall charger. The phone charged fine while running, but once I accidentally ran it dead, and it wouldn't charge off the HP charger. Plugging the microUSB cord into my laptop brought it back to life and charged ok, so I suspect the HP wall charger must run at a different current than the Optimus S charger or something (the Touchpad refuses to charge from my Optimus S charger, so this isn't surprising). I suspect that if offline charging had worked, the HP charger could have brought it back to life because it kept showing the LG logo then turning off, like it was trying to boot the phone into Android before it could charge.

Also, I realize nobody asked, but FWIW, I can confirm that 911 calling works in this build. I had the displeasure of making the first 911 call of my life the other day, and the phone correctly recognized it as an emergency call, placed the call, and then when I hung up, it put me into a 5-minute no-data mode so that the 911 operator could call me back more easily if needed. It's nice to know that the features you (hopefully) don't have to use very often all work perfectly!

The offline charging zip should still function with the 11-20 build. There should be no problems. But Nandroid first or just reflash the 11-20 build if something doesn't work.

The autofocus, show me the picture you are talking about. There is the green square if you hold the camera button halfway down. Then there was some autofocus code that made the camcorder fc, that had to be reverted.
