Re: [ROM][WIP] CM7 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 10-17-2011

Just downgraded back to VD and installed this rom. I'm really liking it. Glad to be back on Cyanogenmod.

My only problem is that I don't have Gmail, Youtube, or any of the Gapps. I did flash the zip, but I think I messed up when it asked me to search the market. I hit cancel because I thought it was asking to back up my apps.

How can I ask it to scan the market again? I reflashed the Gapps zip using the 2001.10.03 version instead this time, but I still don't have any of the apps.

Thanks for the help.

You can just download what you need from the market. That page that appeared when you set up your phone only has gmail, facebook and a few other apps.

I can't find Gmail, Maps, Navigation, or any of the Google Apps in the market :/

I ran this rom most of a day before I realized I had the usb media bug and jumped back to my stock rom. Is there a fix for the bug, maybe dirty flash? Not alot of options for the zvd crowd. I will compliment you on your rom other than the media bug this is the best cm7 rom ive tried.

You could always boot to recovery and mount USB storage to transfer data over

See this post for USB problems. http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg...-s-thekraven-10-17-2011-a-43.html#post1341777

I really haven't heard if that worked or not. Most of the problems have been from those coming back from ZVH. Try reinstalling uninstalling and reinstalling the USB drivers. I have been trying to recreate that problem on a couple computers without any luck.

Found this on accident. In Titanium Backup I noticed the CM Market Installer was frozen. Defrosted it and opened market and it prompted me again.

Thanks

I installed the oldest Gapps again and it finally worked late last night. I also cleared some data in a few applications that I thought might affect it, but I'm not sure if that helped or not.

That's interesting that coming from the ZVH baseband causes usb errors.
I use Debian Stable - Picasticks Led Kernel
and Kravens 10152011, on Optimus V & Virgin Mobile
Usb tethering said not connected and that is all of my errors besides rotation not working but I always use portrait view anyways.
Only other thing is Pica's modules don't load except wifi. I had to use mount managet to load them all for my Debian Loop that's on phone.

Curious that Bobzhome kernel doesn't support ext2,3,4..

Curious? I'm running data2ext4 on it right now...

I'm running data2ext4 on it too. BobZHome's v3.2 to be precise (I'm preparing to flash 3.11 shortly).

However, I had a question about the 10-17 release. What besides the kernel has been changed from the 10-10 release? Or I guess what I'm asking is where do I go to see the InferiorHumanOrgans change-log? I just want to know if I can get away with just updating my kernel and not actually going through the full wipe/upgrade process.

If your just updating your kernel normally you dont need to wipe anything.

Always happy to help, hit that thanks button if I did

Re: [ROM][WIP] CM7 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 10-17-2011

10/17 was more of a feature update. Gps has more servers. The camera has image stabilization added. The 3.2 kernel disabled the headset mic. The 3.11 IHO kernel, which readded the Interactive governor back. Headset button fixes that for headsets with volume controls. There were not too many CM7 updates last week.

You can follow here what gets updated between the dates. https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_frameworks_base/commits/gingerbread

I'm still plagued by missing check boxes and some button elements in the browser with I use any theme other then the 3 stock themes. Most notable is the button in the gmail app to show images in emails.

I have no clue to where to even start looking for a fix... All I want really is a transparent notification area :(

Is this a problem on anyone elses phone?

Have you tried the ported mixer theme? Works great for me.

I downloaded the theme for mdpi on XDA but it has the same problem as this :

That is a different theme same problem. This is the page when you hit settings on the google homepage when logged in, the box buttons don't show up either such as the "Submit Reply" button in the bottom of the mobile version of these forums.

Do these show up on your phone?

Making progress. Ironically wasn't the port. I cleared the cache in the internet settings and the checkboxes showed up. Rectangles around links aren't though. Notoriously the gmail app which has show pictures and the attachment download buttons. Or in my above screenshot they save link under the post edit.

This is a very minor annoyance though and I'm happy to get my check boxes back.

PS: sorry if autocorrect changed some words... Started using Swype today.

Edit: I lied. It worked for a while in that settings page but not on say the Sprint page. I'll keep playing with it and post what I find.

Edit2: the settings page on google works when I turn of instant search results. Unfortunately any purge site with a "Remember Me" checkbox or any dropdown doesn't show a graphic.
