[ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 3/9 zvd only

Does anybody happen to know where I can download the boot-animation used in Drew's CM7? The flashiness of the default one in this ROM gives me a headache.

Thanks for this ROM BTW thekraven, I haven't had a single issue at all on 11/3 - 11/7 :)

Absolute system root

That happens when i remove cm notification app. I'll add it back in the next one or remove that menu.

Awesome ROM. One thing I'm noticing is that when I download an app from the marketplace, I get the "Updating '{app name]'" and it stays there after the app has been installed as though it were still downloading. It only disappears when i swipe it away or clear all notifications.

Agreed rom is really rocking and to me pretty much flawless! Great job kraven! Had a wifi issue but a simple battery pull solved it:)

I tried adding back 'dim' to the settings and just got force closures. I'll see if 15% sticks.

testing this currently.

Wow, that sounds awesome man. And is there a transparent status bar + center clock combined like before for 11-07. Flashing one is taking the other away :)

Thanks again for this ROM.

That's not happening to me on the 11-07 build. I'm using the same center clock + transparent status bar patch from 11-03 like it says to in the first post.

So how stable is it since it was released? I just rooted (zvd) and im debating between this or maybe just reborn.

unless you guys have any suggestions?

I've been using this rom since September, and I haven't had any reboot issues or operating issues. This rom is very stable.

Try both if you want.

Do a nand backup of your current ROM then try each of them out.

Biggest causes of instability: Overclocking and messing with /system files.

Overclocking is a hit/miss - try and see what speeds your phone can run stable.

Messing with /system files - go ahead but you better have a backup nand just in case.

And yes - this is a very stable release, still running the 9/27 build - just been too lazy to upgrade.

But the 11/7 build is looking very very tempting - probably this weekend.

For this ROM, it's always best to fresh flash, don't dirty flash (flash over an older ROM to upgrade it).

Some people have no issues, but quite a few have instability and force-closes of applications.

Adding a seperate note:

Do NOT flash Drew's Ginger Kernel 7.1 on this ROM.

It sort of works, but does not come out of sleep properly so you have to pull battery reboot.

I made a NAND backup before I tried, so I restored, all good.

Just a warning - would've been nice to test out - maybe BobZHome can implement the fixes that Drew put in to fix the graphic glitch?

Yeah, If you decide to try Ginger Kernel 7.1 turn off the CM screen off and screen on animations prior to flashing the Kernel. After a button wake, you will need wake it with a love tap. ;) . Camera will have a white screen but will take pictures. Other than that, the system runs smoothly with along with GPS. And don't leave bug reports in the ginger kernel thread as it's not supported for this ROM per Drew's request.

I didn't fix any graphics glitch, though there was an issue with GingerKernel versions prior to v07 where overclocking with some frequencies between 600MHz and 728MHz caused strange screen garble. Disabling those "rogue" frequencies seems to have solved the issue.

As for the black screen when coming out of sleep, I'm still looking into fixing that for 2.6.35, but it's not extremely high on my priority list.

Basically, there isn't anything in GingerKernel that really applies to your 2.6.32 kernel or CM7.
