you know its not against the law "yet"to hack your phone,just tell them that your data or prl wasnt updating and you where trying to do it yourself,i got mines by switching between different phones,the have to give it to you when deactivating or activating phones

Actually Congress stated you bought your phone & can do with what you like, the phone company can not stop you from hacking into it. except void the warranty.

Arf. I didn't make a backup before installing, should have. On restart, Android gave that "updating apps" dialog. Now I have far less internal free space. I wonder how far back my last nandroid was.

No. Please stop asking. I doubt anyone feels there need to be 400 mirrors of the ROM.

On a different note, I cry inside every time Android tells me it's "optimizing" my apps. :'(

See the 3G symbol up there? Damn right! . And still works today. The A5.V5 boot image did eat up internal space though.

Yes, I got that. I went looking for an alpha 6 release, that is probably what @Va1ha11a meant was a5v6.

Another boot.img to try. On my test build adb and native usb is working. So please post your results. So you can remove the usbstorage.apk via titanium backup if both are working.

Edit made another one, See if the clock matches up better in v6

Both of these solved my data issues completely. I had to do @Thraeryn's Toggle Dance TM on A5V5, but not on A5V6, it just worked after a clean install of A5 and GApps, reboot, sign into Google, reboot and saved a A5 barebones backup. Then I flashed A5V6 boot image, rebooted. After it mounted the SD, I unlocked and toggled wifi off and BOOM, 3G. Awesome!

edit - Oh, and both of these have given my higher radio signal strength displayed (and in OpenSignalMaps) and is likely why I can get 3G, even inside my house (where signal is weak).

It does a little in my house with weak signal and toggles with 1x and 3g. But outside, solid, strong, like a rock!

I cruised around yesterday with v5 and it was solid 3g everywhere. I'll play more with v6 today. I'm going to restore most of my CM7 apps (looks like @thekraven got the internal space back on a5v6 too) and see if I can run this for a few days. Getting closer for me.
