[ROM][GINGERBREAD] CyanogenMOD 7 Nightly Builds.

Hey guys,
I'm jumping in kinda late, here; so forgive me if this has been previously addressed.

On my stock Inc. I was able to dial a desired contact's name by typing their name, using the on-screen keypad. I have CM7 RC1 now, and I have to use search button, then type the contact's name.

Anyway to simulate the stock experience?

You can set the auto-brightness values yourself under the display tab in the CyanogenMod Settings if it is bugging you so much. I've never cared for auto-brightness much on any ROM I've tried, including stock, though. I just change my brightness via the notification bar power control widget.

I forgot about gesture search. That's a good workaround. I put the app in my ADW laucher

I had this issue, too. Check whether all animations are selected under the main display menu (not in the CM menu structure). If only "some animations" is selected, the power on screen won't appear even if selected.

YES!!!! I figured it out... freakin awesome. Thank you so much... I used an app called SuperManager... it took some tinkering, I figured it out... Thanks again, especially for the R/O and R/W info, def needed to know that

I am turning on and off my phone just to see it....

seth, thanks! I was doing this along with the thread and didn't want to shell out the cash for root explorer so it was really nice to have another program to use for this. Now I have a custom boot animation and a custom splash screen.

OK so I flashed 21 and still have issues with the auto brightness...what gives

Slayher added new levels and set the defaults to be more in line with other devices, you can tweak the settings to your liking.

Menu -> Settings -> CyanogenMod Settings -> Display settings -> Automatic backlight -> check use custom then select Edit other levels...

YOoooo it was awesome using cm7 with all your guys help. I think im getting a tbolt in the next few days, bc ive had an upgrade available forever, but its been real over here. Love that cyanogen on my dinc. i'll be fiending for it while i watch my new pocketsized flatscreen tv phone.
Thanks to all of you it's been great, maybe i'll even keep the incredible just to hang around here.

How cone the newest version is 2/17/11 but in about phone it says 2/16 after I flashed 22

i put c7 on my device today, and its super coolio! HTC incredible.

Few questions when i flash the new nightly does it erase all of my screens?
or just simply wipe cache and davlik? then flash? and everything should be the same..?

please help, i dont want to mess anything up. or lose everything i just setup!!!

Wipe just cache and dalvik...Don't do a full wipe...all your stuff should be there

You can also do a backup just in case

RC= release candidate.Thats the stable build they are up to at that build .
I dont know what #22 added but #21 added a gps fix( although I wasn't having an issue )The nightlies have been stable for me tho so to me the RC is just kinda like just another nightly.

I never flashed the Audio Boost Kernel, but the audio changes in the Stock Kernel #21 seem to work really well!
