[ROM][GINGERBREAD] CyanogenMOD 7 Nightly Builds.

#27 is up - There are updates for recovery and the ROMManager URL. I hoped the later would fix the CM notification registration, but it didn't. :(

Hey guys....

20,000 VIEWS!! Holy wow, never thought this thread would get this huge! I just thought it would be cool to make my own thread for CM7 since we didn't have one here, but this really turned into an awesome thread. Pville and seth, you guys are here all the time when I can't be, and that is amazing. Big thanks to you guys.

A little note on me personally: Although I haven't been posting much recently anyway, I will probably be more absent in the next few weeks. I start college on Tuesday, and I am moving in with my girlfriend on the 29th. So between working 35+ hours a week at Best Buy, 20+ hours a week of school coming soon, and keeping the woman happy, unfortunately Android will have to take a backseat. I will still keep an eye on this thread, and update the OP with kernels, etc. when I get a chance. So please don't think I've bailed on you guys, or ditched the nightlies if I miss an update or two! Let's keep this thread alive!

why do i see a #28 too?! im flashing it!

Sometimes there are 2 releases in a night kinda back to back like that , not very often but it does happen. They mite have tweaked something else .:).
so yup #28 is the last now

Like I said in the past, I am all over diff threads in different forums on different sites; regarding CM7, this is the only one I even really bother Posting in and trying to help out with... Thanks again for starting this thread :) I can usually be found here in the morning; thanks to work and/or school I am 'usually' sleeping by midnight...
Good luck in school, I am in school and work and have a GF too, so I know what you are going through! and when I cant get online to this actual site, Tapatalk is my means to see whats up on this thread (or any thread on this site)...

Good luck, you'll do fine bro!!!! ....oh yeah, what are you in school for?

Deep Root issue/question?

So, I deleted ADW in the CM7 setting (used a root explorer; no longer shows up at all), I flashed the newest 28 this morning and thought that it would put adw back on my phone again and it didn't..?... Not that I want it again because I have ADW EX now, but I thought adw was a part of CM nightlies. why did flashing the newest not put it back on my phone?

My guess is it didnt because you just wiped the cache and delvik cache since that is all that is required.
I bet if you wiped all data it would have put it back.

Well at least you dont have to go tho that again to setup the adw ex and get it working. :)

That is what I figured, I just wanted to make sure that I didn't royally screw my phone up. It is working just fine however I have noticed some what of a decrease In battery life..

Also, what sucks is the fact that if I ever do have to do a full wipe I can't get back my purchased apps again... Or can I? And how?

There are a number of ways to get your purchased apps back. In titanium backup, you can either backup all user apps or you can do individual program backups (go to backup/restore, click on the program, and click Backup! - to restore, go to the bottom section, click on the crossed out app you want, then click Restore).

You can also do it from the Super Manager program you found using the APK Manager or the Backup Restore.

After a full wipe you need to re-flash GAPPS. This will install the market, as well as other Google Apps and then you can re-download any paid apps through the market.

Although necessary sometimes; A full wipe is a huge pain in the ass!

thankfully, I don't need to do one right now... knock on wood :)

Oh sooooo True - but I have my full wipe restore routine down to about 30 - 45 min. Not so bad but the PITA factor is high! ;)

Did anyone else try the MIUI Camera app? I can't get over awesome this thing is! Should I add it to the OP considering it probably got lost in the shuffle?

I tried running the newest Tiamat yesterday, phone rebooted in my pocket within 10 minutes of flashing. It was smooth enough when I did use it, but no smoother then the latest incredikernel. I have been using the 3.18.11 incredikernel for a couple days now and my battery life has been excellent.

I've been considering doing a full wipe lately, but considering I haven't done one since around build 10 (before they reset the numbers!), and I haven't run into any issues yet, I think I'll hold off for an official Stable release.

I really need to get Tapatalk, but everytime I think to download it, I've already met my self-imposed monthly limit on app spending:)

I'm going to ITT Tech to get my Computer Sciences degree. Learn some programming, although lately I've been really interested in the hardware side of things. I took a year off from school after graduating high school, just to save up some money and get my feet underneath me. The whole saving money thing didn't work out so well, but I did develop a hell of a work ethic! ;)

but im back on stock sence and was wondering if i can still flash a different kernel.

sorry, b4 i went to stock i was running the invis one. just went back today to take some vids in 720p. im converting back when im done. is it okay to just flash the kernel over the stock OS?

or do i have to be ruinning a custom rom to add a custom kernel... so confused!

actually, tapatalk updated this morning and now added XDA to there choice of forums also (like 2 for the price of one) :)

I hear ya on the school thing... I was at penn state in 2001-03 for network engineering, and one bad choice led to another; now I live in FL and go to school at Florida State College in Jacksonville for BioMedical Engineering. I liked the networking side of things but don't feel like fighting for a job when I graduate... So, I changed my major and am glad because it is much more hardware and circuits oriented. I already got certified a while back for my A+, but i think i need to refresh on that :) I have about a year left in school and then into the "real" world (even though I work almost full time right now at a funeral home)... basically, im just looking forward to having a job in the medical industry, getting to design equipment, and not having to deal with patients...

Good luck in school bro, Im sure you will do just fine :)

and i need to check out that camera you spoke of... what are some differences (improvements)

There is an incredikernel that supports sense (version 2.6.32 released 12/23). The main thing is to read the website and make sure that the kernel supports the ROM you are running.

I flashed it and really like it (I hate having an audible shutter).

One thing that confused me was that when I flashed 27 (I flashed the camera over 26), the default camera functioned exactly like the MIUI camera even though the icon was the original. I had assumed that it had persisted from the original flash, but that doesn't seem right... Could they have implemented it as the default in the most recent builds?

I noticed that on mine too, but after an unknown amount of time, the original camera returned. I don't know if a reboot did it or what. Seems almost random.
