[ROM][GINGERBREAD] CyanogenMOD 7 Nightly Builds.

The James Brown scene in The Blues Brothers is one of my Son's favorite movie scenes of all time!

His road manager gave me his card and it just said "GFOS"...that was all...freaking James Brown everybody!!!!!!!

God Father Of Soul.

Thanks bra...methinks that big 4.3 screen is a tad big and Winston Salem isn't getting LTE anytime soon.

I came back to CM7 from Skyraider 4.0 cause there wasn't jack happening on that thread...battery life be damned I'm CM7 for life!! Or until someone puts together a Gbread/Sense 2.0 ROM and has the customization of CM7! (I can dream right?)

It's funny that your battery life was so much better. My experience was pretty much the exact opposite. With average usage and about 30 minutes of car charging I'm at 68% of the 3500mAh battery - with SR4.0, I was always at or below 50% at this point of the day. Not that I'm doubting, but it's really crazy how much phone hardware and usage patterns differ.

The only thing drawing me to SR4 was the option to turn off the softkey lights. I loved me some night mode when I was using that ROM.

You can turn off the soft keys in CM7, but it's either on or off. In the Automatic backlight custom settings - set the buttons to 0 for all levels.

Also FYI - If you need the Alarm clock in the morning - either pull the DeskClock.apk out of 80 and copy it over or flash back. Trying to change the time in the alarm clock will FC.

Good to know on both counts. I have been using gentle alarm the past few days and am pretty happy with it. I'll have to test it out tonight to make sure it doesn't call on any of the offending bits of code.

Also, I was mostly kidding about the softkey lighting since that was an issue a few nightlies back, but I may play with that setting some going forward (you learn something new about CM7 every day - that's why I love this place).

It really is awesome. I was pretty skeptical that it would make that much difference, but both days I have used it, I have woken up refreshed earlier than usual.

The free apps are definitely awesome, too. If only there was a definitive thread about that somewhere...:p

Overall I'd say SR 4 gave me the best battery life of any ROM I've tried to this point. I'm not a "power" user but even after average use for me (which usually includes a pretty good dose of AngryBirds, yes I'm still addicted to it) I would wind up the night with about 30-40% battery left...and that also included streaming Slacker at the gym over 3G for about an hour or more.

My typical routine was unplug around 7am (damn kids always wanting mommy and daddy in the AM), check the mail's, Facebook, weather etc etc...wait until it drained to about 80something % then top it off and I was good to go for the rest of the day. Granted not everyone stays at home as much as I do but I would think most people have access to WiFi though out the day.

Pville, you rock. I played with this yesterday after you mentioned it, and I absolutely love it. I usually don't notice it, but it's great to be able to have these off while watching netflix. Now the only thing SR 4 has that CM7 doesn't (that I care about) is the sense camera, and the MIUI one is good enough for most purposes (and if I really cared, I'd try Vignette...)

I use Vignette - It's good but the quality is suffering because of the camera issues still outstanding for CM7 - It will be nice when GB drops and the devs get their hands on it for the drivers.

Two questions: I'm just on 79 but I still can't download MMS messages. I get an error message every time.

I also still cannot connect my Samsung Bluetooth. I've not been able to use my bluetooth since many, many nightlies back. No matter what I try, starting with a completely cleared factory reset I cannot get my bluetooth to connect anymore.

I hope that once Gingersenswe drops and the Cyanogenmod team gets the drivers not only will we get 720p video recording back but the stock camera will be able to take full 8MP pictures, thus eliminating the need for another camera. I love CM7 but the camera is defiantly one of it's weak points.

MMS had a few bad builds - the newest works OK - try that.

For your BT - Reset your Samsung device to factory default (check the manual for how), delete any pairings you have on the phone then reconnect.

Should work. This is what I had to do to get my BlueAnt working again.

Having some issues with my scrolling. It's been pretty jerky and inconsistent. I don't have the scroll settings set to anything funky. Is it just me? I find jerky, hesitant scrolling to be a HUGE annoyance.
