[ROM][Repost][06/05/11] Comm ROM 2.1 (UKB) from TSM **Updated 06/20/11**

Anyone have issues with MMS? I can't seem to send and those I receive, it wont DL. This was like this on 2.0 and 2.1. Tried OTB 1.5, 1.6 and am using PBJ now.

Go to Settings > TSM Parts > Lockscreen Settings>.. If you see Lockscreen Wallpaper.. you updated.

I see that I can create my own lockscreen message, which is cool. But do any of the lockscreen choices actually lock the screen so that a password or pattern is required to unlock it? The only reason I have AVG security on my phone is that it offers a custom message on the pattern unlock screen so that if I lose the phone someone cannot access what's on it but CAN see who to contact to return it (I should be so lucky).

Am I the only person having issues with Wi-Fi? It will find networks but it will not keep a connection longer than about 3 seconds. It ends up saying it failed. I did pbj -50

No issues with wifi on CommROM or any other ROM.. You can try a different pbjt kernel and see if that helps.

Here is a version that is unthemed - Basic ED01 Swype

This is the stock ED01 Swype. apk and library file. it is a bare bones fix until TSM gets the full patch up:

You will have to boot into recovery
Delete your Dalvik cache
Then flash this zip..
Reboot - will take some time.

Confirmed working fine...

1) post your exact setup (version of com rom, kernel, voltage settings, any other mods you did flash)
com rom 2.1
coming from com rom 2.0 - cr20_nomodem_nuts_shark odin -This version contains no modem/radio and imnuts' 05/31 PBJ -50mv nonvoodoo kernel
baseband ed04
build number ed01

2) did you wipe data/cache/davlik cache before flashing the rom
package did that in odin

3) what rom/setup did you flash com rom over
flashed 2.1 over 2.0
odin'd 2.0 over stock verizon froyo

4) what is your *specific* problem...not "omgz ma ****z be borked yo"...that helps no one and frankly is annoying to see...
When phone is turned off, I plug in charger get grey battery on screen with progession symbol but battery does not turn green. Upon unplugging phone, grey battery symbol remains and I can not power phone up. Have to do a battery pull to restart phone. I went back to stock and went back to ED04 and this does not happen. Only with comrom 2.0 and now 2.1.Yes I have tried it with a different modem via odin and also flashed via CWM. Yes I have cleaned USB on phone aned chargers. Yes I have tried different chargers as well. I have a spare and the original. I have tried to charge it on laptop, desktop and wall outlet.I love this rom it makes my phone perfect. I hope you guys can figure out whats the cause of this issue cause I cant do stock froyo....lol ..no really I cant deal with its lameness!! SAVE ME!

Thank you so much JAEKAR99 for walking me through a fix for this. I know there was another person having the same issue as I was with the battery not charging when phone was off. For that one and anyone else having the same issue, I have, and with JaeKar99's permission can PM you the detailed solution that worked for me. The final solution was changing from the imnuts kernel to the comavolt kernel. Once I did that booted up and then powered down phone and plugged it in, I GOT GREEN CHARGING BATTERY!!!
Thanks again so very much JaeKar99 and thanks to the comm rom developers for making a most excellent rom and to the android central fascinate forum for being so helpful.

p.s. I would like to also say that because I am a noob, I read so much info on changing kernels, doing terminal emulator 5 million times to confirm I wasnt voodoo and each time I thought I was ready to flash the new kernel, Id take a quick glance at my old lg dare(motivates me to read and not just dive into things as the lg dare would be my new phone!) I will say that the first try I put the nonvoodoo one on flashed and it kicked it out cause it wasnt edify. So another hour later to make it clear what the difference was I flashed the comavolt edify nonvoodoo kernel.The information is abundant but as long as U take your time and thoroughly understand what youre reading youll be fine. And if you get stuck, see if you can find the solution on the boards and if U cant, ASK FOR HELP. This forum and the people on it are so helpful and eager to want everyones fascinate to be up and running that you dont feel embarassed to ask the simplest of things.

my camera is refusing to work. it just vibrates and force-closes when i select it. might be a TW4 problem? i guess i can just use retro camera until the gingerbread ROM comes out.

I'm not sure if this was done on purpose or if I'm just noticing it now but the back light on the soft keys no longer stay on as long as the screen is on? They turn off after 5 seconds or so like the pre froyo days. Just an observation.

I have had the same issue.. I do not believe that it can be replicated over a broad enough sample of the populous to warrant a full investigation and decompile of the mms.apk... I have been able to send and receive pictures but cannot download vids..

There is a stock ED01 patch that you can try - Link

It may correct the problem.

Titanium backup issues

So I got the kernel all straight and everything and figured I shouldnt pat myself too hard on the back as I hadnt done a TB as of yet. I downloaded titanium backup from the market...get the error message saying it couldnt acquire root privileges. this application will not work verify rom is rooted and includes busybox....there was also an option to upgrade superuser.... so I went under settings after clicking problems and it checked for su binary v 2.3.1-ef updates.....well I click on that it check for updates tells me theres a new version and to click to attempt to install. next it says auto update failed and that a zip file was put on my sd card, file su-2.3.1-bin-signed.zip . rells me to reboot into recovery and flash to update su binary. Flashed it and it came up with file bad..............Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Ok I think I figured it out.downloaded my backup root and it says I dont have root access. Im assuming kernel switch did it?

I would try and reflash the theme and launcher. I had to do that when I first put it on my phone due to a boot loop and it cleared everything up for me.

I had the same thing. However, it was never a constant thing. Sometimes they would stay lit for a minute or two, other times it would be just a few seconds.

I did as instructed and it came up once I did the flash that it wasnt edify I needed the zip to be edify......I read somewhere else that there wasnt and edify SU.....
