Ok I think I figured it out.downloaded my backup root and it says I dont have root access. Im assuming kernel switch did it?

I have seen where kernel switches have caused people to loose root.. Typically with OTB kernels... I could guess that it would not be out of the ordinary for this to happen with ComaVolt..

If you are still having issues with obtaining root you should be able to root by:

Downloading su+busybox.zip
put that on your sdcard.

Download: Odin File (CWM 2.5.x) - and flash that to your phone via Odin..

Boot into recovery and flash the su+busybox zip and that should restore your root.. Unfortunately there is only one version of busybox+su and it is append only.. so you have to switch versions of CWM to accomodate the install.

Keep in mind that you are now using an older (append) version of CWM..

I had like 3 windows open and I was actually lurking around and refreshed and saw your response just as I found landshark helping someone with the same issue THANKS TO U BOTH!!!...Now my question is this, if I were, because I want to be up to date with CWM, reflash COMM ROM 2.0 no kernel so I can keep 3.0 would that be ok or would I be having a funeral service for my fascinate? Thanks in advance

I did as instructed and it came up once I did the flash that it wasnt edify I needed the zip to be edify......I read somewhere else that there wasnt and edify SU.....

You can ODIN CWM 2.5.x to flash the SU package and once you see if root is established, you can then reODIN 3.x.

You can reflash a CWM 3.0 at any time after you install the busyboy+su file.. you don't have to reflash the whole ROM..

You can go with a times_infinity version and you should be fine.. (Odin).. Or put this zip file on your sdcard and flash using any CWM..

I have had the same issue.. I do not believe that it can be replicated over a broad enough sample of the populous to warrant a full investigation and decompile of the mms.apk... I have been able to send and receive pictures but cannot download vids..

It may correct the problem.

I may have the same problem with receiving pictures (haven't tried videos). Over the weekend someone sent me a text with a picture and I never received it. A couple of days ago I installed the patch. The picture has not showed up. I haven't asked anyone to send me another pic to see if it's working now to know if the patch helped. In case it's relevant, I'm using Handcent and have the default MMS app frozen in TiBu.

need some help. tried the gb leak but decided to go back to comrom2.0 (like to theme waiting for 2.1 to get some) any way when i went back and put red volt on i lost my launcher pro. tried going to market but that launcher pro wont theme. flashed back to stock and started over and still no luck :'(. any suggestion? all help appreciated.

I guess I need more clarification on what you need help with.. If you flashed back to stock would that be EB01? as recommended by DroidXcon?

And your request for help... is this theming or installing CommROM?

Are you referring to the entire ROM or just the modem? Both have been flashed on CR 2.0 and 2.1. With all the problems of SD cards being wiped and corrupted, probably best for everyone to stay away from the EC09 ROM for now until the devs really have a chance to go through it and clean it up.

Have not seen or heard of any issues with using the EC09 radio and Comm ROM. In fact I'm going to try it on for size tonight and see how it works.

Call verizon tech support, tell them you are having 3G troubles, tell them you have already done a factory data restore. They will need to do an ESN swap, you will get your 3G back.

It would work fine for a while then it would just freeze, or not wake up at all and would reboot. Didn't have more than -50mv UV applied to any state. Switched back to Comavolt two days ago and all is well again so far.

No more SOD since I switched from Beautiful widgets to fancy widgets pro. I was getting freeze ups and random reboots. Back to my favorite ComaVolt.

Com Rom 2.0 flashed but touch screen frozen...

although the soft button work I can't make any screen selections. Had been running evil fascination v3.6 with no problems using the same kernel. I wiped data/dalvik/cache x3 before flashing. Has anyone heard of this problem or any fix? Really wanted to give this rom a shot. Thanks for any help.

p.s. unless my parameters are off, I got no hits on search.

I've been running the EC09 modem with ComRom2.1/OTB1.5 for two day now without a single problem so far. Before that I was running the ED04 modem and was having missed call issues. I'm noticing slightly better signal strength with EC09 and to my knowledge have not missed a single call. GPS is working good on EC09, last night I locked 8 sats inside my house!
