[ROM][Repost][06/05/11] Comm ROM 2.1 (UKB) from TSM **Updated 06/20/11**

I've been running the EC09 modem with ComRom2.1/OTB1.5 for two day now without a single problem so far. Before that I was running the ED04 modem and was having missed call issues. I'm noticing slightly better signal strength with EC09 and to my knowledge have not missed a single call. GPS is working good on EC09, last night I locked 8 sats inside my house!

What made you switch back to OTB 1.5? Right now im on CR2.0 with OTB 1.6 and EC09 radio everything seems to be working fine, faster GPS lock, faster data transfer, signal strength hasnt rly changed. Although im having problems with my phone booting up to the homescreen then freezing up occasionally, safe mode, and some widgets not appearing. Thinking of switching back to the old trusty comavolt if thatll fix some of my issues.

I had the same thing. However, it was never a constant thing. Sometimes they would stay lit for a minute or two, other times it would be just a few seconds.
If I'm not mistaken, isn't this an option now in TSM parts? I think it's set to 15 seconds but feel free to change it to your liking.

I've been running the EC09 modem with CR 2.0 for a day now. Getting much better 3G download speeds and usually between 5 and 10 dBm better on cell reception.

Hey Landshark I have been having odd issues with OTB 1.6 Kernel, could you please provide me with the link to the ComaVolt kernel that you are using. I would like to give it a try.

Thanks

So I flashed CR 2.1 after I did a factory wipe of data/cache/dalvik. However, my fascinates kernel and stuff doesn't seem to be different (except the Build)

Firmware: UKB 2.0
Baseband: EC01
Kernel: 2.6.32.9
Build: ED01

Any suggestions? I flashed the CR 2.0 with the PB&J Kernel over my CR 1.3 using my original Kernel (whihc was 2.6.32.9)

Also, how do I know if I'm running CR 2.1? I flashed it in CWM (that one that says Voodoo Lagfix 2.5.1x)...

THanks!

I loaded 2.1 lastnight and so far I am loving it. What apps are you using to conserve battery. I have been using juice defender and auto killer and have been using advanced task killer.....I have heard spare parts is a great app to use. What do you suggest. I know everyone else says this but I want the most out of my battery!

Stop using ATK... it is actually worse for your battery

The only way to know what ROM and kernel you are on is by keeping track of it yourself. It will not show under phone info.

You can however download CPU Spy from the market... that will tell you what kernel you are running

Not using any apps but I have pretty decent battery life by undervolting and using wirleless when available. Be sure to turn off wireless when not in range of a network however because the constant checking will drain battery some.

I had swype 3.0 installed on my wife's phone. She is running ComRom 2.1. I reflashed her rom cuz she had a few bugs. by doing this, i over wrote the swype and it reverted back. i used titanium back to uninstall the old swype but when I go back thru the swype 3 installer, it tries to install but stops and says application not installed. I double checked with root explorer to make sure all the files in question were actually gone and they are. any suggestions on getting swype 3 working in her phone again? thanx

Your firmware is still going to read UKB 2.0 because TSM simply forgot to change the build.prop when they released the UKB 2.1 patch. The ROM is still based off the ED01 build so your build is going to stay the same. All Froyo kernels are going to be kernel version 2.6.32.9. The only way to tell what kernel you are running is to use the app cpu spy or you can also download terminal emulator, type su next to the $ and hit the enter key, then type cat/proc/version next to the # and hit enter. If # didn't show up after the first time you hit the enter key, hit the menu soft key then click toggle keyboard. And the baseband is your modem which didn't change because the UKB ROM does not contain a modem.

I would also suggest changing your CWM so it is up to date as all the devs are switching to Edify script. Flash this in ODIN:

You have to reboot the phone after you uninstall the previous version before the install of the new one will work. If you've already done a reboot since uninstalling, just keep trying and make sure you are getting either a good 3G or wifi signal, whichever you are using. But it sounds like you just need to do the reboot.

Swype theme for UKB

I just downloaded UKB. It is amazing, so fast, looks like you have a nexus s running pure google which I love. The one thing is the swype in it has expired so you have to download the beta from swype and delete the current one. This works fine the only thing is you lose the themed swype keyboard that matches the rest of the phone. Not a big deal just wondering if I can get that theme back. Thanks

You won't be able to get a themed swype back until TSM themes another swype version or removes the licensing info from the previous version and puts it back into UKB.

I did reboot but I bet I didn't wait for the a good signal. Thanks Sharky

update: My wife teaches Spanish so I was trying to install the Englis/Spanish version of swype. I reflashed an old version of Swype then uninstalled using Titanium Backup then went thru the Swype 3 install process but this time I install Swype Full and it worked just fine.

I'm using OTB 1.6 which allows you to adjust the settings manually with the inlcuded app.

Sorry for being such a noob. I am trying out so many different things. Where can I get OTB 1.6 and what are you using for your settings?

Landshark said he was using the EC09 radio? Where is that posted? My market is taking forever. The TSM market isn't downloading everything that I would select...I am having to go through and download \everything 1 item at a time.
