Yes you can. It is recommended you wipe cache and Dalvik cache before you do though.
No, don't extract. It's ODIN file. Use ODIN and press "PDA" and select the cwm_all file and hit start. Put the battery back in, and press vol UP&DOWN and Power on the phone. It will take you straight to Red CWM

Just flashed it, all seems well. Might be imagination but it seems faster.
Have to say I really like the SC 2.8 that shows up when you pull down the notification screen. Great touch! For those that use voodoo, might be nice to add a v or nv for them!

Boy 2.8 did no play well with my lp+ I had to uninstall and reinstall it just to get it to work but I was happy it works with the midnight steel blue 2.7 theme.

No problems at all some 5 hours later with 2.8. I flashed it in and cwm went back to blue, so I just re-flashed my cwm all zip and it's back to red and everything is working to perfection
I will be flashing 2.8n & eb16n through CWM, does it matter which one I flash first? I think I remember reading that it does but I can't find the post.

2.8 includes the EB16 kernel, so no need to flash the EB16 at all

Strange... same thing happened to me when I reflashed 2.7 to get rid of a theme I was trying. Didn't happen the first time but it did the second time. LP+ went back to stock, forgot that I had bought plus version and wouldn't let any of my customizations stick; It was really strange. Did you wipe cache? For some reason I did when I reflashed over the theme and not when I originally loaded 2.7... did you happen to wipe anything before going to 2.8?
Edit: 2.8 works fine with my LP+
Thanks yet again Adrynalyne. Flashed SC2.8 from cwm, rebooted, then rebooted into recovery but went into blue recovery so I had to apply update.zip to get back into red, re-flashed cwm-recovery-all, then flashed the newest honeycomb theme, rebooted and I was running SC2.8 with the Honeycomb theme perfect and LauncherPro+ didn't give me any problems for a change. I rebooted into recovery to make sure that the cwm-recovery-all took and it did, I booted right into red cwm bypassing blue with no E:/bitmap errors. So for the xth time thanks for all the hard work. And good luck with school, I just went back a couple years ago myself after deciding to work instead after 1 semester when I first went after high school in '05. Now I'm about half way to my Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering at University at Buffalo. The workload sucks some times but if you enjoy at least some of it and look forward to the new career it actually goes by fast.
Has anyone noticed the soft key lights don't come on when the screen is powered up in SC 2.8?
