[ROM] TrulyEpic Rebirth v1.5 AC - no planned EB13 update :'(

Yes it does force it into landscape mode. Out can be done in portrait mode using the capacitive buttons but it doesn't work very often because the back key does what its supposed to do stopping the screen shot function.

Yeah standby mode is amazing- so if she's anything like my wife and barely touches the phone except for a few sms and phone calls- it SIPS battery while in sleep.

Not sure if it's the rom or the DK28 but in sleep or non processing mode it must underclock. Run Quadrant- when reviewing the summary it says the current speed is something like 200mhz.

I'm also seeing a very low use of battery when I turn the screen off. However, this is a pretty inconsistent behavior. I tried running task managers and similar types of apps to pinpoint the rogue app, but haven't had any success. I'm not sure if its the ROM or not, but I'm not ready to point the finger yet. I did notice turning off the 3G stops the battery drain.

I am sure it's posted here somewhere but I just realized if you hold the program menu button you get a preview of your 5 screens.

Just for future reference any of these general Froyo questions not pertaining to a specific rom ask them in the new FAQ Rooting/ROMs/Methods section. Thanks everyone.

It works, but opening the keyboard forces the screen to enter landscape mode. +1 on using screenshot. Shoot me is a good one too, it lets you do vidcast on your phone as well (I haven't tried it yet though).

Shoot Me is the one I like too.

Enjoy TER overall

Hi All -
A couple of comments to things I've found with TER.

According to Consumer Reports (they're the ones that don't take ad money) - batteries that are lithium based should not be run down completely. This used to be the case, but now running a battery all the way down and then charging it prevents compete recharging. Although with the way batteries are now, even this isn't that big of an issue.

Another aspect could be the launcher used with the TrulyEpicRebirth. Under the original Epic I was running GoLauncher. I liked it but heard about ADW Launcher Pro and bought it. With TER, I found that it could be part of the problem with my battery, but worse still, I don't find it as useful as GoLauncher. So I went back to that and my battery life seems to have improved. At least slightly.

I also had to do the GPS fix version 4. Doing so wiped some of my programs and default settings, so I'd do it right after installing TER. Prior to the fix, Google Navigation showed me 80M from my actual location and I disliked the voice on Sprint Navigation so I didn't use it. Now with TER and the fix, my GPS is right on target - even showing me a street view of my house when I arrived. And now no Sprint Navigation. I haven't tried a new voice for Google Nav, nor am I sure if there is one. I'd like one.

I'm using Market 2.2.11 and I too have a problem with my apps. My paid apps show, but many of my free ones didn't. PULSE was working just fine, but it didn't show in the apps store. So I re-downloaded it, which required me to redo my settings. Then I found that if I cleared my cache and saved my settings my other free apps were saved.

When I first did this I had an issue after about two days. My whole system shutdown and wouldn't even give me the home screen. I had to do a complete re-install of the system. I hadn't used Titanium or another backup system so I wouldn't know if those would have worked at that time or not.

I do wonder about making screen shots. I'm unsure if there is an app or if there is a key stroke that does it.

Is there anything that we do to avoid the Sprint update if it's over the air? What would happen if I had to take my phone to the Sprint store? I'm unsure if rooting it voided the warranty, and I'm not about to get into that aspect, but if there were an issue and I needed to take it in, should I restore it back to factory conditions?

Thanks,
Theocrat Issak

I played with this for a couple of days before I realized that 2.2 breaks my bluetooth when connected to Sync... I lose all audio when it connects on the phone (all sounds, not just voice and streaming audio) and it does not restore them when it disconnects. I have to do a reboot to restore sound. I downgraded to baked snack and the bluetooth works like it is suppossed to. I am assuming the issue is with Froyo and not with this Rom, but so far this is the only 2.2 rom I have tried so I am reporting it here. I am going to install the DK28 by itself tommorrow to see if I can replicate the problem.
Loved the ROM prior to that though, hoping it's a Froyo thing and it is one of the reasons they haven't released officially yet!

Screenshots in Froyo can only be done without apps as I talked about in previous posts. Otherwise grab an app from the market. I use screenshot.

If you did have to take your phone to the Sprint store for any reasons yes reset back to factory because by being rooted/and or custom roms you have voided your warranty. Odin back to stock and they wouldn't be able to tell you did anything.

thank you paul and ragnarok for answering my questions, but the mms bug that i reported before, i still haven't heard anything from you guys about it, if its something i messed up, or is in the Rom itself? :/

When I ran system info under quadrant her minimum frequency is at 100mhz...guess that explains the great stand by.

I noticed that the video player no longer has the ability to lock the phone by hitting the power button. Was this feature removed with 2.2, or is there something I can do to fix it?

I searched the site and tried to go through the pages here but couldn't find the solution. On the Android keyboard I lost all the default predictive text when I installed this ROM (it is sweet and makes me glad I switched from a Pre). Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks.

On a side note the Galaxy Email app did not work with my Exchange 2003 server. It would start downloading but then just say connection error, which sucks cause I like the interface a lot more than the stock email app.

I looked through it but I didn't really see much about Exchange 2003. I got it to initially work, but after it downloaded some emails it would just fail. I am in IT and know how to get the settings work and they work in the default app. It isn't a big deal, I was mainly concerned about the predictive text and auto fix.
